Bentley Drivers Club - 10th Aug 2013 - Loads of pictures
Discussion
Hi there,
I spent the day at Silverstone on Saturday for the annual Bentley Drivers Club Event.
This year was a special celebration with it being 10 years since Bentley won Le Mans in 2003. To celebrate Bentley and M Sport had bought along the new Continental GT3 with Le Mans winning driver Guy Smith on driving duty for the day. This was only the second time the car had been run in public and the first time it had really done laps at racing speeds.
The car looked superb: -
As well as the Continental GT3 demonstration there was Bentley Owners parade which featured some superb cars: -
This guy was having way to much fun in the course car :-)
Was really worried that I might go all day without seeing my favourite Bentley of all time, and then I found one. A gorgeous Brooklands and in a stunning colour
Second favourite is really close behind a very pretty Azure
A few other pretty bits from around the circuit
710 bhp Racing Continental anyone ?
Nice old racing Bentley
The racing programme feature plenty of action from the Morgan Aero Racing series so as you would expect this attracted plenty of Morgans.
Gorgeous Supersport
Tony Hirst aka Paul 'The Fireman' from Coronation Street can really pedal. He finished 2nd in this race which was good given that is was a big field.
Probably the nicest Morgan 3 wheeler I have seen, the quilted leather interior was gorgeous
2 very lovely Aston Martin DB6's
Some on track action from the afternoons racing
Anyone know the difference between the MGA above and the Silver car below. The Silver one seems to be almost like a Speedster ?
Lovely little Lotus
Can't remember the last time I saw a Fiat Coupe racing
Hope you enjoy the pictures.
Regards
Tim

Hi Tim. Fantastic pictures! My husband Jason was peddling the yellow Fiat Coupe (on 3 wheels most of the time!) and was very happy with his 8th overall given the fast and varied cars in the scratch race. He's told me to say - "Brilliant and over the moon with the photo"!
You're right that currently there are few Coupes actually racing - one did time attack, a few sprint and I think there's a racer or drag racer in Portugal - loads of track days cars. It's been a 3 year journey so far to get reliability into the car but it's got amazing potential - Jason came third overall in the Pomeroy Trophy a couple of years back and we raced at Spa this year with some good results. Just need to get the handling sorted - the home made spoiler dials out a lot of understeer but there is much that can be improved.
Incidentally, we were sharing our red Lancia Aurelia (number 19) in the FISCAR race (first race of the day) - I don't suppose you have any shots of that car?
