The only time we were allowed to engage 'hards' was with these;

If we targeted the hulks at Larkhill or Otterburn with these we'd get a bking as they were actually quite difficult to replace if we blew the f*ck out of them hehe (yes, that smudge is the round leaving the barrel - it was only charge 1)

Wow! Thanks.
A guy that owns a software company that supplies our database software at work has had involvement in that, it was nearing being ready for flight but someone very wealthy approached them to put it on display in a museum exhibition in California for a few months. So once it comes out of the exhibition they are planning to fly it- later this year apparently.

Israeli pilot broke one on a training exercise & still landed it!
Good example of how much aerodynamic lift the main fuselage creates on an F15 to keep it in the air and remain under control yes

Looks like a Bugatti Type 35 mounted on a pedestal with a tilt just over 90 degrees from normal.

We make cool sh.t for the chaps at the base, so they invited us to enjoy their hospitality. Letting us park up next to the UK Apache and play with their toys.
Great guys!!

This was discussed at some length on PH (and its where I found out about it), but the photographer had deleted his pictures because he thought that the driver was dead! Fortunately not, and I found these images on an obscure kit car site:

That's Chris Maries. Very much alive and well. I saw him only last week when he was in for an MOT. smile Crashed when 2 back markers he was lapping moved over on him. Nasty crash and I was watching from cascades.
Chris died twice in the car and was revived by the doctor. I had no idea how serious it had been until I spoke to my father about the accident recently.

What actually happened was that Chris was passing his brother in a faster 7-type when the Vectra moved across taking the space, running him into the rear wheel of the other 7 driven by Dave Maries. The accident has many magnitudes worse than the photographs suggest (!), with the car flying up and over DM's car and spinning several times in the air before hitting the ground.
