I am going to sell my car soon and when I bought it, it came with reg N4 TET, I think it says Nate T.

I thought that I might try and sell it separately to the car but I have no idea if it is worth it, how to do it, where, cots involved.

Any help ?

I don;t have grand plans for the money for it but if it is worth £100-£250 then I figure that is a few beers and I would sell it.

Some on this forum regularly flame people for these types of plates so don't take anything personally.

Advertise it on here in the parts and plates section and maybe eBay?

You need to get a retention document from a local DVLA office but I think you can now down load them. Application to retain a vehicle plate is what you need. You will need to pay the fees and then pass them on in the price of the plate.

The application form to retain the plate has very clear instructions on what to do. If you get stuck call a local VRO...vehicle registration office. Just google whatever you want to know though as there will be a guide from someone.

Doesn't bother me, it came with the car, My name is Ben so it is of no use to me !

I just have no idea how much it is worth, don;t want to be a prat and advertise it for £250 if it is only worth tuppence.

The fact that you think it says something but are not sure should give you a pretty good clue as to its value...

It'll cost £105 to put it on retention.

If it hasn't sold within a year it will cost £25 to renew the retention.

I've just a retention lapse as I couldn't be bothered to waste any more money in renewing it.

What happens then?

Does ownership revert back to the DVLA and go to auction?

I've got V10 DCL and I think it has some value (maybe £250-300) but wondering if it's worth the hassle.

Sadly the market for V10 engined cars is very small, and that's very specific initials.

I say this as the owner of V10 WOO

I'm saying if David Christopher Lloyd owns a Porsche Carrera GT it's probably worth quite a lot to him.

It might take a while to find a buyer smile

I didn't pay the retention on mine for about 10 years but was allowed the plate after back paying those years.

Love a reply that ends in multiple fullstops.

It says nate t, it looks like nate t. Just wondered if this was worth anything as someone who doesnt go in for that type of thing.

Replying to a thread of a genuine question asked in innocence with a ste attempt a sarcasm gives a pretty strong clue to the value of the post.................................................................................................

Hey look my fullstop buttons stuck too.

You mean you weren't hoping that someone on PH is called Nate T? You missed a trick there...

It didn't. It ended with an ellipsis. Written as three dots, it is a correct piece of punctuation. I'm sure you can now do your own research to understand how it is used and what it means.

Just fire it up on eBay, mention the buyer needs to pay the £105 retention fee on completion on top of the winning bid.

It will sell, so just enjoy however many beers it gets you,

If you fill in the form and send the cheque, they will likely give you a new cert rather than lose the chance of the annual fee. Once gone, the plate will never be re-issued so it's better for them to keep it in circ.

I've submitted 3 late renewals now and had them all re-issued.

Nope, once it's gone, it's gone. DVLA don't re-issue expired numbers.
