My sacrilege almost ties in with yours.... I bought a VW Beetle after seeing it in a barn years ago but still don't really have a clue what it is - I even had to get a mechanic to open the bonnet for me! (In my defense even the mechanic couldn't do it and it had to go to a VW specialist :/ )anything

I love Metros
Never driven or even been a passenger in one, but love the looks, the "80s"ness of it. Even the name 'Metro'. I don't care how slow/unrefined/iffy handling it is I'd bet it would be more interesting than the equivalent 'supermini'.
Last one I saw, when I was out on red sports bike, was heading in the opposite direction and I'm like "aw yeah a METRO cool!".
However it was being piloted by the most miserable elderly couple I'd ever seen who were glaring back at me? __
Ungrateful bds!

I've had 3, and I prefer them to Minis.
I was building a twin turbo Audi V8 S6 AWD for some years, constantly running out of money, stumbling upon one problem or another. Then said to myself 'fk this, it gets too expensive" , sold the whole engine and transmission, then bought an old lump of a Mercedes V12, and now making it deep into the Audi with RWD and Maserati transaxle.
That said, over the years I realised that I much more prefer engine sound and agility over sheer power. Hopefully this project will be much shorter.

I drove a range of expensive and less expensive cars whilst working for a rental company. I've still got the urge to drive 3 hard again one day: XF; 3 Series; Ford Transit SWB.
The Transit is genuinely fun round corners in a slightly perverse way.
Nothing perverse about it!The Transit is genuinely fun round corners in a slightly perverse way.
