My sacrilege almost ties in with yours.... I bought a VW Beetle after seeing it in a barn years ago but still don't really have a clue what it is - I even had to get a mechanic to open the bonnet for me! (In my defense even the mechanic couldn't do it and it had to go to a VW specialist :/ )

I dislike the MX5 with a passion.

Never understood the love for them.

Hate them.

Now I'll get my coat!
Hold the door, I'm coming with you.

Snap! A good friend of mine is rather upset with me that I've arranged my wedding for the same day as next year's British GP.... ooops

I love Metros

Never driven or even been a passenger in one, but love the looks, the "80s"ness of it. Even the name 'Metro'. I don't care how slow/unrefined/iffy handling it is I'd bet it would be more interesting than the equivalent 'supermini'.

Last one I saw, when I was out on red sports bike, was heading in the opposite direction and I'm like "aw yeah a METRO cool!". biggrin

However it was being piloted by the most miserable elderly couple I'd ever seen who were glaring back at me? confused__grumpymad

Ungrateful bds!
I love them too.

I've had 3, and I prefer them to Minis.

I don't think the E-type is the best looking car ever made, nowhere near. A Miura pisses all over it in the looks department.

I think the James Bond/Aston Martin connection is a bit tacky. Especially when an Aston has a Bond related plate.

I also don't think any car has a "soul". It's just something Jeremy Clarkson said once to sell a few books.

Brown (or braaahhnn, in certain threads on here) seems to be a 'connoisseurs' choice.

It's fking disgusting.

I wouldn't go near the Nurburgring if you paid me. I have zero interest in the idea of it.

I think an E46 M3 pisses all over both of those in terms of looks.

I was building a twin turbo Audi V8 S6 AWD for some years, constantly running out of money, stumbling upon one problem or another. Then said to myself 'fk this, it gets too expensive" , sold the whole engine and transmission, then bought an old lump of a Mercedes V12, and now making it deep into the Audi with RWD and Maserati transaxle.
That said, over the years I realised that I much more prefer engine sound and agility over sheer power. Hopefully this project will be much shorter.

Good news - I was the same 22 years ago when I was 28 - you don't grow out of it but you do supplement that cherished experience with something that is manual for those other days

I drove a range of expensive and less expensive cars whilst working for a rental company. I've still got the urge to drive 3 hard again one day: XF; 3 Series; Ford Transit SWB.

The Transit is genuinely fun round corners in a slightly perverse way.

Well if that's not controversial enough, I've a hidden urge to drive an EV and a new Twingo, and have much more interest in day to day cars than exotica. So I fail to fit almost all the moulds on here!
