I think the 911 is just flat out wrong, the only reason they got the whole engine-behind-back-axle to work is because they bloody-mindedly stuck with their mistake for 40 years, just think off how much better porsches would be if they allowed something like the cayman to be on equal footing with their iconic fossil.

And the only time i've driven a RWD car i would have dumped it in the drink in 5 seconds if it werent for the rear tires completely losing grip when i dropped the clutch.

Oh, and my next car will probably be a small eco-diesel hatchback, and i have no prospect of getting anything cool to hoon around in anytime soon.

The last one really depresses me frown

I don't go sideways in my mx5. Even in the wet. Although I blame lack of LSD. wink

Having driven/owned a couple of paddle shift (DSG, SMG, Powershift etc..) gearboxes cars i prefer them and won't miss the manual gearbox even with all its interactive nature.

There i said it

Supercars don't really do it for me.

I drove a Nissan Leaf recently and was really impressed.

I dont like BMW's.
I like 80's and early 90's Italian cars. (I have a 2.0 155 Twinny widebody and a Dedra 2.0 i.e.)
I think Italian cars can be reliable.
100hp per ton is plenty enough.
I Like the Ford Explorer.
I like the Caddy seville sts.

OUT! you heathen.

Actually I can understand that the wedges arent everyones cup of tea (especially the older wedgier ones) but as someone who was in my teens when they came out they are and always will be cool. which is why I have just bought one despite the grief I knew I would get from my OH.

Can you really say this doesnt look good?

In answer to doogz and others that dont understand mk1 and mk2 escorts I think you either have to have been around in the 70's or have been to a rally in the last few years to understand just how good a rally prepped escort looks going broadside round a corner with a BDA screaming

I like pick-up trucks.
One of the most entertaining cars I've ever owned was a Rover. (420GSi Turbo)
My TVRs are more reliable than my Range Rover and wife's 911.
Big horsepower Audis leave me cold.
Ferraris bore me.

I hate Alfa's and have no desire to own one, despite that big oaf Jeremy Clarkson saying you can't be a petrol head without ever owning one

I traded in my E46 M3 for an A3 TDi because we needed a hatch/estate for the arrival of the dogs.

What the hell was going through my head at the time, I don't know, it was a short lived thing as I hated it.

I have a thing for range rover classics and land rover discoverys, defenders do absolutely nothing for me whatsoever

One of the fan-boy Porsche specialists on here has been less than impressive when I have dealt with them on more than one occasion.

I own a car that would likely be detested on here due to its 'stanced' nature (don't worry it was never a performance orientated car!}

I think French cars are brilliant.

I fail to see the obsession with mk2 escorts, yes it's great to see one coming out of a corner on a rally stage broadside and some sound fantastic, but fairly standard ones are a universe away from the proper, top rally prepped cars. Also I'd rather have a Fiat 131 than one....

Don't know if you've seen one in real life or not, but I was with you on this until I saw one in the flesh. Pictures really don't do it justice.
