The idea of such a heavy, inefficient, energy intensive design as this is just another socially violent product of capitalism: its only value metric is money, usefulness to society is irrelevant. Something frugal or lightweight would be a far more impressive and important contribution.
A sad indictment of today's society, comrade.

Britain arguably leads the way in developing such technologies. However, we also lead the world in luxury goods - in the fast-developing nations of Asia, South America and even Western Africa, nobody's luxury goods carry as much cachet as British ones (even when the engineering is fundamentally German). If Bentley can make a product that can take on the top-end Range Rovers etc in the luxury and off-roading stakes, while sustaining jobs at Crewe - good luck to them.

I'd still rather have a Range Rover, though...

Didn't Lamborghini make an SUV in the 80's?
I seem to remember something of the sort..
Yep, the LM.

£1000 per tyre for that. As I remember it was the Countach engine in there and Gen Gadaffi had one. Very economical.
I think Mr Gadaffi could afford the petrol............He only lived in a tent.

I desperately want an LM002... possibly the most politically incorrect car ever made, and the sound of the Bizzarrini V12...
