A neighbour has 8 OAT on the car he uses to tow his boat.
Another neighbour had OIL 1 (i'm in Aberdeen, the oil and private plate capital of Europe!) but he sold it recently.

Did he own a Ferrari FF or is this the new owner?

I've seen SFC 1 a few times this weekend on a silver RR, not sure if it's football-related or not.

Saw 1 TRY on a white X6 in Cheltenham yesterday.
That's the dealer principal from Cotswold BMW. They also have TRY 1 and the story I heard was some chap traded in a couple of cars with them on years ago and told them to keep the plates as he didn't want them. Ouch!
Hmm..not doubting this was what you heard, but whereas TRY 1 was issued (obviously for free) in 1958, 1 TRY was sold by DVLA in 2002 for £12500 + fees and VAT. I very much doubt anyone would walk away from an investment of that scale.

Haha, that'll be the new owner! Previous owner had it on an old X-Trail or something. Think he sold it for around £70k.

That plate is awarded to British Car Auction's employee of the year.

IIRC, the same lad has had it for a couple of years in a row.
