Real Good Number Plates : Vol 4

Out of interest, why is a plate like this desirable? I understand short plates with two letters as it can represent your initials, but i don't understand why people would pay MORE for a less descriptive numberplate.
Mainly as it will apply to a lot more people. 15 LYC for example would be an ideal reg for Lianne Yvonne Clark who was born on the 15th, whereas something like 77 R would be ideal for someone who's first name, surname or nickname begins with an R, born in 77. There would be a lot more combinations that the 77R would be relevant too. They command higher prices as they are easier to sell on (within reason!).HTH

Guess these types of number plates are not to really going to 'wow' anyone as they mean nothing to anyone apart from the owner and their family and friends....fazzx said:

Irrespective of the car it's on, it's a bit sad (IMHO of course) to drive around saying 'I am the Master'.
Yes true but same could be said about the plate K1NGS but it still sold for £235k...Edited by Escort3500 on Saturday 6th December 20:38
