Guess these types of number plates are not to really going to 'wow' anyone as they mean nothing to anyone apart from the owner and their family and friends....

All opinions are valid of course, to me {and all 3 of mine are words because I like those) 21 D is desirable because it is minimal, is a part of history being an early example, 21 is a cool number and D a cool letter and initial. Also similar plates make good price so a good investment too. They don't come a lot better.

Agree, each to their own, I personally love original plates (ie not DVLA sale jobs). I like the rarity factor; this is a good example, issued by Kent in 1964. This rarity can also drive prices, making #### D for example usually more expensive than #### P.
