H4PPY spotted yesterday on a Mercedes ML is East Finchley. No pic, and some might say the wrong thread due to lack of a space between 4 and P, but I liked it nevertheless.
I bet the owner is happy now paying £4,700 for it in 1998.....
I see H9 PPY regularly round my way, thankfully not mis-spaced! Actually looked quite nice on a red BM convertible..

Hoping someone knowledgable can help me. My MOT failed today as the tester said the width of the registration plate isn't wide enough. The registration plate is L8 FCH and I have the plate shortened down so there isn't much space, apart from the legal reuqirement, either side of the L and H. Does anybody know the actual criteria of what the plate should adhere to? I thought there was no criteria in regards to the width aslong as the letters have 1.1cm(?) inbetween each digit/letter?

Plate in question is this which has been on since Nov 2013. If anybody has a link to the actual requirement I'd appreciate it smile

Have you asked him why he failed it? Interested in the answer - and his solution.

I'm guessing the answer is "It's too small, but I can make you a legal one for £15".

What was the Section code of the failure (was it 6.3.4g?)

And from a few years ago when these were new........

I like that.... It would suit my ZMC in Dakar.... Also a coincidence a neighbour of mine has "X2"....
Blimey Johntt, were those single/singles (and the cars of course) both yours? beer
Lol I wish the regs where worth as much as the cars, they are at my brothers old bosses house. He also had a bugatti with the reg B1 around the same time. He ended up selling the regs and does not bother with private plates, his current wraith is on a standard plate.

The Z3 plate will be worth a lot to the coupe guys as there cars value will surely rise. I love it on that car which is a keeper for me but has been sorned for a while, on of 73 rhd S54 roadies.

We have some great single number single letter plates on company pool cars.

If my memory serves me that was owned by club/radio DJ Judge Jules, I think he had 5AD too.

1 KND on a Cayenne
XFE 1 on a BMW X5
Both near MK Train Station this afternoon.

In other news, I've sold V15 BEN this week after 12 years ownership!
Feels a bit strange no longer having my own plate when I'm still very interested in them.

Decided it was a time to move on tbh.
I wouldn't buy one now and I'd rather have the money that the plate at this point.
