Definitely a real plate.
Was advertised by Kahn Design in Bradford for years.
Surprised the DVLA let it through.

At Runnymede on Sunday, I spotted 135 BMW...

...sadly, it was on the 'wrong' car - a 2004, 1.4 litre Nissan Micra SVE hehe

What was funny about it (to me at least) was the thought of some 'Aspirational' BMW 135 owner salivating at the thought of bolting that plate to his Bavarian 'obvious demonstration of superiority', but being denied by the fact that the owner/driver of the Micra wouldn't sell. He certainly looked like the 'old money' type - dapper, well groomed, blazer, panama hat, looking very smart and content, waiting outside the National Trust tea room at Runnymede. My sarcasm wasn't in the " hehe " - it was in the "sadly"...
wink

Yes. I believe he owns the Rockingham Hotel. It's always parked there and the reg was formerly on an old Bentley or Rolls.

In the mid-seventies I called a mate whose initials are PJB and told him about a VW Beetle I'd seen for sale for £50 with MoT and a bit of tax with the plate PJB 12. We had been buying and selling cars for several years so it wasn't a big stretch. He had already swapped a plate. He said it had to be PJB 1 or nothing. I wonder if he ever regretted it.

I still have AC30 plates which were my great grandfathers. This is him getting them presented to him, I believe that he had them on a Jag. Alas they are now on my very clapped out VW golf, but they mean I can spot my car easily in a car park!
