Thanks for clarification.
My understanding is the plate originally belonged to Coomes of Guildford who produced the modified Coomes Jaguar race cars as pictured. Coomes then became a BMW dealership before becoming Vines BMW hence the plate staying within the business and on the car I was lent.onyx39 said:
That Jag reminds me of this plate, which I am frankly amazed is allowed:

Why amazed? That plate has been on that car for at least 30 years. Long before PC came along.Goodwood Revival 2013 072 by Jim Pritchard, on Flickr

Yes, but they (DVLA) can revoke a plate if they get a complaint, I read on here about a plate that was released and subsequently pulled due to a complaint. And without being limp wristed, it is asking for trouble even though it was obviously completely innocent at the time of release.

Good grief, why are you worried? There isn’t anything wrong with the plate unless you make it an issue, are you Argentinian by any chance? And without being limp wristed, it is asking for trouble even though it was obviously completely innocent at the time of release.

I'm not worried, at all. I'm just surprised the plate has survived without the PC brigade having it outlawed. No idea what your Argentinian reference is about, nor even slightly interested.
