It's left hand drive. Is that a bit odd? If I had a plate like that I'd want it on something lovely but conventional.
Maybe it's an "ex-John Cleese" car, brought over from the states and mated to the "BAS1L" plate to boost it's value to "a collector"?I always wonder at what point on the 'celebrity spectrum' you'd need to be before your name in the previous keepers list would actually increase the value of/desire for any car. I mean, would anyone be tempted to pay a premium for Bonnie Tyler's old white VW Golf Cabriolet (if indeed it still exists) if it had something like "BON111E" or "TYL3R" nailed to the front bumper?

What about the poor chap who bought and paid a premium for Jimmy Saviles Rolls Royce Convertible with his private plate..... And had to take it off.... And register the car twice to get his name off the V5....
Such a shame. Really. It is a beautiful car, though. Thought at first that this might have been the very vehicle, but J S Vile's car was not LHD?droopsnoot said:

I've never tried it, but perhaps the car is just used for swanning down to the South of France so as not to share cabin air with the commoners.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
