I'd question the presence of mis-spacing there... borderline if anything. Perhaps a few millimetres shaved off but thats about it. I'd expect the 1 to be right next to the J if the space had been omitted (like in the example image below)Visually, they've benefitted a lot from the fact that J's have innately got their vertical component offset to the right so much, giving the overall plate a perceived appearance of balance (even without blatant mis-spacing).

Edit... pity about the lack of a BSAU145d reference, rendering all my above observations and praise immaterial!
