Volvo C70 T5 155,000 miles.

Which by my fag packet maths is about £40,000 worth of petrol! smile

Not all by me thankfully!

I've got a 2004 RX8 with 99,500 miles on the clock now, still on the original engine.

I have put 46,000 miles on it myself in three years, and haven't exactly looked after it. It's bad two oil changes and that's it, no plugs, no coils, no anything.

Still pulls strong......

Had an MG Montego Turbo with 187K on it when I sold in in the mid 90's, was still going strong.

XJ had 130k on it when I sold it last year, was running superbly.

Fully agree with the "buy on condition" comments.

A great and rather surprising response from the PH massive! Thanks you lot! It seems many are happy to divulge the steps we will go to save spending on a new car!

Anyway, it also shows that there are many of us with old smokers that are certainly NOT adding to the eco-mentalists view that motor cars are causing global warming! If our high milers are anything to go by it seems we are more likely to be helping the environment (even those with V8's!) I can now wear my 'V8 - I'm doing my bit for global warming' t-shirt with pride, knowing it is all true! I wonder how long the average Toyboata Pious will last for. 50k miles before the celebrity/film star that owns it wants a new one?

I had a Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 - 111,000 Miles on the same engine I admit when i sold it, it was sounding a bit rough.

I think the timing chain was on its way out.

Current daily is an 06 plate BMW E46 320Cd.

Bought it in December 2008 with 14,853 on the clock, just turned over 134,853 earlier this month.

Thought the diff was away at the end of last year with the rumble so swapped to using my MINI for 6 months, turned out just to be a wheel bearing hehe

So 5 and 1/4 years useage, 121k miles added by me. Its not worth much now so no point changing, also the longest I've ever run the same daily driver. Comfortable and nice place to be for 25k miles a year.

My diesel Vectra's still going strong and turned 177,000 yesterday.
My father's old petrol 405 was traded in at 220,000 and we've run a BL Princess similar distances without trouble.

The reward has to go to Jonny at Bookatrack who recently sold one of his rental fleet Caterhams with 156,000 reliable trackday miles on the original Rover K-series. They're pretty much indestructible if you thrash them, just don't drive like Miss Daisy (or a Golf).

My old '99 audi s4 that I sold to a mate a few months ago was on 160k, still on the original turbos and using no oil. Thats fairly impressive considering all of the horror stories I read when I bought it a few years ago.

E36 BMW 328i now on 211,000 miles.

About 150,000 of those miles are mine, and it's still on its original clutch and exhaust.

How is the Monaro holding up?
Couple of niggles to fix but nothing major (a squeaky belt pully / tensioner and a fractured air con pipe).

From the drivers seat it genuinely feels like it has done perhaps a quarter of its true mileage.
