RE: Audi Sport Quattro - will it be built?
Discussion
The extra length in the wheel base really robs it of the looks of the original concept and makes it look quite bland, the color does help and those wheels are shocking.
The biggest problem is the intent of the car now, it was an interesting take on a classic and now is a bloated fashion victim.

I don't think the photos in the article do it any favours. WTF is wrong with just a normal shot of the front or the side, instead of trying to angle the camera and bend the fking light or whatever st is the latest trend in photography. So I still don't really know what the car looks like
I'm in 2 camps, I happen to like the styling, it's a move away from the current generic Audi look. The wheels will probably never make it into production (if the car does - who knows) but I don't dislike the wheel syling either, just drop the blingy chrome look. As stated, that's not the right colour for it either.
The dynamics of the concept though is all wrong like most have said. To be a true tribute to the original, it has to have the 5 cyl and be much much lighter, have a manual option and that's just for starters.

Nice to know my efforts are appreciated! Seriously, it was a bunfight for a clean shot, very wide angle lens, very close to the car so it was either lose some of it out of the frame or tip a bit of angle in to get the whole car in frame. And double quick before someone else walked into the shot. Did what I could.
There are some studio rendering type press shots in the original story here with more conventional angles too, if that helps. No sharp elbowed film crews in the way there!
Cheers,
Dan

I'd be more interested Dan about what you thought of it in the flesh as opposed to how it looks in any picture!Seriously, it was a bunfight for a clean shot, very wide angle lens, very close to the car so it was either lose some of it out of the frame or tip a bit of angle in to get the whole car in frame. Will it be built? Or should it be built?
I'd agree with the general consensus here and say no. It's not cutting edge enough in terms of tech or design to be at the top of the range (Vorsprung Durch Technik and all that). In fact, it's not cutting edge at all I'd argue.
Strikes me that it's an attempted spoiler to grab some headlines/coverage from BMW's altogether more intelligent i8. Or am I being cynical?
Just what I thought, hoping to steel some of BMW's i8 & M4 thunder. The thing is this thing, sitting on an RS/7 platform, is big heavy car. Just as BMW have finally started taking weight from their cars rather than escalating the power race Audi lob in the Quattro concept version 2 to create a distruction. Only we're all realising there's not actual much to see here. Or perhaps there's way too much to see... I'd agree with the general consensus here and say no. Won't be built - too close to RS5 Market segment.
In reality it is far far different from an RS5, however it may seem in pictures and specWhy bother reviving a name of a car it bares no resemblance too. It's an awful colour that can be forgiven, its supposed to be a show stopper. I'd love to have been at the focus group for this one they must have been away with the fairies.
The styling is pretty awful all said, the wheels look like a premiership footballer option from the aftermarket list, the back end is Maserati GT but not is a nice way and the roofline looks like a cut and shut.
I'd give that a swerve

And this:- The blister was exactly where the door handle was."
Is the reason why Audi (in my opinion) is just marketing - any serious company would have found a way to make it work - but Audi - in a skoda/seat confused identity kind of way thought ' f*** it that will do fo those mugs who think they are buying sometHing unique - lets use the polo/golf parts bin and charge em more!
