Reading on the Corsa thread about underpowered cars I couldn't help remember the time I drove with 7 of us in a classic Mini.

We were on our way to a gig in London and my mates car broke down before we'd even got going. So we all piled into my Mini - Four in the back, two on the passenger seat and me driving. The worst part of the jounery was travelling up Wrotham Hill on the M20 at 25 mph and being overtaken by numerous HGV's who seemed like they were travelling at 100mph.

Stupid and dangerous? Absolutely. I now shudder at what I did.

Pfft, like I'm posting what I did to Tracey from Kwik-Save in my Dad's Jetta on the internet for him to find out about it...
Well I went to a school where there were a number of American boarding students. One of them, Jennifer, was my girlfriend. She invited me to stay with her for two weeks during the summer holiday at their huge American mansion in Coconut Grove in Florida.

Her Dad had a classic 50's Chevy convertible that was his pride and joy. Jennifer and I found that the best place for sex was on the palatial rear seat of her Fathers car. biggrin

After my "vacation" was nearly over, I came down for breakfast and her Dad announced in conversation that he was getting the roof of the Chevy checked over as he was sure there was a leak onto the rear passenger seat "that had turned the upholstery all sticky and gooey".

We did it long before it was called drifting.

I did an indicated 145 leptons on the A12 the day after I passed my test. Looking back, it was fabulously silly.

Wasn't me driving but the clostest call I had was getting a lift back from a club with a mate who was properly twisted on a shed load of e's.

We were bombing it back from the Opera House in Bournmouth up the M27 when I saw we were saling past the exit, shouted words to that effect - he swung the car over the chevrons and managed to just make it with the pointed end of the barriers missing us by what felt like (and most likely was) inches.

We just looked at the other, having gone rather pale. Drove the rest of the way in silence. Kinda killed the buzz...

Absolutely fking stupid. Often wonder how I survived my youth.

The day I passed my test I drove into, and on, a (horse) race course. Did a handbrake turn on the grass, the wheels dug in and I nearly rolled the car.

Other than that, I was pretty restrained as a teenager, in fact I find the older I get the more mental I become. Not sure if that's a good thing.

After a great night out in stoke one night, I ended up heading home in the car of a female colleague. She was as pissed as I was after having been on the booze for a good 5 hours.

Totally uneventful but I do recall having to steer from the passenger seat while she sent some texts on her phone.. Felt perfectly normal at the time biggrin

No real mental stuff, but when I drive on roads, and see opportunities that at 17 I would have regarded as perfectly good overtaking spots in either my Volvo 343 or a 1.1 fiesta I shudder.

not really mental, but underwent numerous road trips without having a scrap of clue of how to get to said destination.

very stupidly 'secured' a vintage style roof rack to my car using heavy duty double sided sticky tape, lasted a good few months, until I overtook an HGV and all of a sudden it flew off still with my bike attached. Hand on heart still get flash backs every time I get in a car, I thank god it was just me and that hgv on the road. 2 weeks later I sold the car.

Deciding after a few beers that I didn't want to be sitting in the passenger seat of a mates pick-up and climbing into the back at 60+ down a very dark country lane.

Likewise, recently drove a very up and down twisty B road that was my route to college back when I was 17, but since finishing college hadn't had any cause to drive for the last few years. I was in my Impreza turbo, so not a slow car by any means, stuck behind a motor home that was struggling to exceed 25mph in most places, but I wasn't fussed because I remembered a few bends ahead there was a decent straight that with a drop back to build up a speed differential I had managed to pass the college bus several times in my youth, driving a 1987 1.1 carbed MK2 Fiesta. hehe

Got to the said straight only to find it was a dodgy overtake in the Scooby getting past this slow moving vehicle half the length of the bus, god knows how I ever managed to drive like I did! I was convinced for a minute that the visibility must've been better a few years ago but I don't think that's the reason!

After being one of only a handful of pupils that turned up on a snow day, i spent the whole day handbrake turning the car around various deserted supermarket carparks.
On the way home from college (on my own) i decided to see what would happen with the handbrake applied at much higher speeds..

In the same car i also managed to overtake a car doing an already reasonable speed alone a very narrow road. One wheel on the grass verge one on the tarmac.

Ive grown up quite dramatically since then.

3 days after passing my test, I overtook an unmarked Merseyside police drugs squad car on the Dock Road heading towards Seaforth, at 95 leptons in my dad's sierra estate.
My 'friend' did a moony out of the window as we overtook.
About a mile later, we stopped at the red light and there was a warrant card shown to me.
I was let off with a 'talking to'

My mate also had a conversation with both drugs squad officers about his arse. I'm not sure but I'm thinking that this may have helped him in his career. He's now an undercover drugs squad officer.
