Good choice SIY! They are a lovely car. Did you buy privately or via a main dealer/independent? What colour did you go for? Funnily enough I have been thinking of selling mine as it's hardly used these days (3000 miles last year) I might put it up in the classifieds shortly.
The warranty situation is still a tricky one it would seem although I have run mine under the ICR approved warranty since the manufacturers warranty ceased and I have to say so far it has paid out on every occasion to the tune of several hundreds of pounds so I can't complain.

Thanks guys...I bought it form a Lexus delaer who had taken it in... also got a 2 year (non-infiniti) warranty, so hopefully relatively easy times ahead.
It's slate blue... but it actually looks grey - quite like it actually (old one was black, so nice for a change)..
I have to say the 5l is much more fun than my old 3.7.... puts a smile on it!
Swerni - can I have your man's details.... maybe a good idea

Read right through this thread and reckon one of these FX50 beasties might make a decent do it all wagon.
Anyone know anything about this particular car or have any input?

It says it's 2015 ? That can't be right
Agree, something wrong.Either the price is wrong, the age or it's been in a serious accident..
Way too cheap.
Hi all,
I posted back in this thread around 18-24 months ago as was thinking of buying an FX/QX70 as a replacement for my Cayenne...
I've had a QX70 3.0D S Premium for 96 hours and been impressed.
Great level of comfort inside and build quality good, but build quality not on the same level as my Porsche.
Infotainment and Sat-nav leaps and bounds ahead of my own car although surprised no Sat-nav info or arrows displayed on the screens between the speedo and Rev-counter.
Good gearbox but not as quick to kick-down for over-taking. Obviously using the manual paddles improves this greatly.
Small boot for the size of car but not really a great issue as there is only my wife and I.
Heated and cool seats are great with plenty of adjustment, although surprised no easy entry/exit movement of seats and steering-wheel when entering or exiting the car. ( Maybe I had not set this up or not featured...?)
Diesel refined on motorway but quite gruff around town.
Lane departure and collision avoidance systems great but a little unnerving at first.
Car feels much smaller on the move but I think it had a lot to do with the smallish steering wheel and front/ rear screens.
Downsides, it is very wide in comparison to my Cayenne, especially on the country roads I was driving over the past 3-4 days.
Tramlines quite badly but not a great surprise due to the 265/45/21 rim/ tyre combination.
Still uncertainty regarding the residuals of them and surely this model will be due for replacement soon as now 6-7 year old design.
The dealer mentioned they are dropping the Diesel engine as it cannot meet the new emission targets due to be introduced soon, April...?
I'd like to test-drive a 5.0 V8 version as I'm used to the power, noise and refinement of a petrol V8. However, they are very rare and the Dealer mentioned currently none available in the network.
There are only 22 used models in the Dealer network and although I normally buy my cars privately, the Dealer warranty appeals. However, obviously there is a big price difference between both methods of purchase and going by US forums the FX/QX70 seem very reliable.
I'm going to speak to the Dealer over the next few days regarding potential deals available etc. and would appreciate any other comments or info...
Thanks in anticipation...
Paul

Hi Paul, try and get a drive of a V8 if you can, they are great cars. Good luck with the search.
After two and a half years I sold my FX 50 today, I was sad to see it go but it has just not been used over the last 12 months as we both now work from home. The new owner is a really nice guy, hopefully he will be on here to keep the thread updated in the future.

Swerni, I didn't get a chance to catch up with you on Friday at the Virginia Water meet but I heard you pull up. I was walking the dogs with a mate of mine and he heard your car pull in so,dashed up to the fence to see what it was. "That sounds epic but I can't see what it is because that massive orange Infiniti is in the way".
"Er, that IS where the noise is coming from!" I replied.
"What?! What the hell is under the bonnet?!".
Certainly made me chuckle.

Thread resurrection.
I've been on and off about an Fx for a good while but am close to going for a V8 now.
However to those that have experience of it,will I feel sad if I replace my jag Xkr with one?
Thing is, I love the jag but rarely use it due to either lack of space or not wanting to look flash.( I know it's only a jag but some folk are funny). So most of the time I drive my 'fancy' van.
So would the 50s feel like good oddball replacement? Quick enough, rare, well specced, decent looking(to me) and apparently a good drive even round the bends...sort of a GT SUV?
It would still be mainly weekend use but I could use it for work if I fancied sometimes.
I guess I'm wondering if it's special/different enough?
