This does seem to have fixed the issue.
Not sure why the switch would have become sticky though.

Ok guys I'mafraid Iit's time. Much as I enjoy driving the FX it's time to move on. I'm planning a radical overhaul of cars and the R Class has taken the Infiniti's functionality.

My car is a black with black 61 plate, Nov 2011 car, still under infiniti warranty until Nov2015. 20,000 miles (just turned over) serviced in October 13 (at 14,000) and taxed to end of sep 14. I will include the full set of winter tyres (unless someone wants to make me an offer wink ) and the original tyres - which are in great fettle with loads of tread remaining.

Where do you think I should pitch it for a quick ish Sale?

Cheers

Andy

I think if you priced it at £19,995 you'd get some interest, perhaps accept £19,500. Have you taken it to a dealer and asked if they will buy it? If so what was the offer?

None competing with you on the trader right now either newer and more or older and less, it's an easy £25k possibly more if you find a committed buyer. Not sure what the chap in the above post thinks you have but none have gone for under £21 even with 60k plus miles

Andy, sorry to hear you are moving on.

I agree with DS that somewhere around £25k is about right for a private sale, a dealer would have it up for just under £30k. Have you tried ringing around the dealer network to underwrite it? It's a rare car and not many for sale at the moment so they might have a punter looking for one?

Could you pm me re your winter tyres and how much you want for them?

Ok car has gone frown I was give. £25.5k for it in part ex. However the real price was an underwritten offer of £23k. I paid £25k retail (plus tax and service) 6 months and 7000 miles ago. That's a pretty good deal as far as I'm concerned.

Look out for it at a dealer at about £27,995 soon (I guess?).

Oh and look out for the winter tyres on eBay - although I may wait until Sep/Oct for that smile

Thanks for your help guys.

Afternoon anyone is still tracking this thread

I thought I'd check in and see how the remaining owners are getting on with their FXs?

Funnily enough, I was just about to post this and then checked back to the old thread and found Wookietaffs post.
Hi, still running ours, it's on 34000 now and everything has been fine with the exception of the gearbox... I haven't been happy with 'box for a while and had Reading take it back in again for a good poke around a few weeks ago. After a couple of days testing hooked up to a laptop they submItted the data to Japan. A couple of days later I got a call from Reading to say that Infiniti Japan had authorized a complete gearbox replace FOC as a goodwill gesture (car is now out of warranty) the box was replaced last week and car returned cleaned and polished. The new gearbox is a big improvement!
After having had some problems with Reading previously I have to say that my recent dealings have been really positive with them.

We did 700 miles in ours during half term to North Norfolk and the car was brilliant. It was absolutely stuffed with our holiday junk complete with new Infiniti roof box and 2 adults and one child. It was still effortlessly capable of dispatching 2 or 3 cars at a time for overtakes on Norfolk country roads and returned over 400 miles from one tank full of super unleaded in mixed driving! The rear screens I had installed last year proved really useful for the journey too.

Andy, how are you getting on with the SL63? My neighbour had a nearly new SL55 a few years ago and it was a proper Friday afternoon special. In the end Mercedes took it back it was so bad...

My 2 year contract hire term is up, and the FX gets collected on 26th having done 36k, I enjoyed it but it does seem to be getting a bit tired with lots of little things going wrong with it, like the drivers window taking an age to close.

Thankfully no issues, the Bentley I bought at the same time has had 4, though minor and being sorted by main dealer. Hopefully neither are Friday afternoon cars smile

It doesn't like being left for more than three days without being used, if we do the battery is flat and needs to be jumped (it's a pain to remember to go and start and leave running for 20mins), a few other electrical problems-warnig lights, these all started when it got to 25k.

Has your dealer had a go at rectifying any of them?
