RE: Caterham AeroSeven Concept
Discussion
The front-end can, hopefully, be ignored; it should never meet crash regs with all those sharp leading edges and the one-piece top clamshell would cost a fortune to replace after even a minor track day excursion. I suspect it has been done for shock factor. There's been an attempt to retain the original 7 nose-cone shape (design DNA, ) and then skin it with a more contemporary surround, but the lack of subtlety has, politely, not worked at all.
The restyled rear end, using the boxy shape to enhance the aero with integrated spoiler and rear diffuser looks good. Hopefully we'll see that go into production on their high-performance cars.

Bring back the Caterham 21 at least it had some style and elegance about it.
'Aero' doesn't seem the right word for this thing. I'm sure there's lots of clever ducting going on around the front end or maybe it's 'aero' because it hasn't got a windscreen!
Try harder Caterham and put an attractive body on a 7. Interesting you don't see the designers face in the preview video. Ashamed maybe....

WOW ! ( please note the sarcasm )
Well done Caterham, you've taken your years of experience building lightweight, good looking, simple cars and combined it with the technological advances gained from your F1 exploits and built what we can all clearly see if a just another 7.
The only difference this time is that you've allowed someone who obviously read Max Power one too many time to drape a god-awful body kit over the chassis.
Seriously, what is the point?
Caterhams have never been about top end speed, so I can't see the benefit of adding a slippery body shape unless it's backed up by serious power.
So, to summarise. Looks awful, and doubtful it'll perform better than their current models.

Oh dear, I love Caterham a little bit less now, I think my neighbour's cat could have had a better go of 'updating' a Seven. I hope whoever is responsible for that hideous monstrosity is taken out the back and shot for the good of humanity. Absolutely no redeeming features, and what the fk is that cross member dividing the cockpit in two? Seriously, what the fk?

I wonder if it would be getting so much hate if it wasn't a Caterham?
I reckon it'd get MORE hate if it wasn't a Caterham.Imagine for a moment if it was white, with black wheels ( as every other damn concept is these days )
Lose the yellow Caterham "nose" hidden in the front, the yellow trimmed wheels and the green body, and you'd have a truly ghastly, ill-proportioned car.
Just doesn't work for me.
