RE: Chris Harris video: Alfa Romeo 4C

Liking this car more and more. And the best part is it's under 1000Kg, for a modern car which is not a track or race car it's unheard of, Well done Alfa, about time. And I still cannot get over the price, £45K for a sports car with a carbon fiber chassis.

I remember after a long chat with the Alfa product folks and getting 15 mins with the car at Geneva that it was as close to my supercharged Elise as could be, to the point that it surely must have been the principle benchmark. The weight and size are pretty close to identical, as are the engine figures, feel of the interior (swap naked Aluminium for Carbon). It's missing a third pedal but that's about it.
Here in Switzerland the price that I was quoted is close to identical to the Elise (lots under the local price of a Cayman)
I just hope that Alfa makes a huge success of it and persuades some car manufacturers that some of us prefer light, relatively basic cars over dull, powerful German barges

Achingly pretty and very desirable. I just wish it sounded a bit better, did anyone else think that it sounded not particularly charismatic?
If a 6 cylinder was out due to packaging, I would have preferred a funky 3 cylinder number to give it a bit more of a gruff sound.

My CC.

I reckon it will look great on the road and it didn't sound too bad for a "four" in those videos.......... I'd like to see a mildly modified one once realised as I'm sure they have quite a bit of scope for improvement performance wise due to FI.
I like the looks and ethos the car has.........

I really like this but why has Monkey and virtually every other journo forgotten about the Evora as a benchmark....? Sublime steering and V6 powertrain. Bell and Colvill have a NEW Supercharged "s" at £50k that would seriously tempt me ahead the Alfa and it has proper headlights too

Was thinking that. Evora has a slightly slow paddle setup as well, M-R layout and all. Maybe they're saving that for a dual-test later on UK roads?I love the Alfa though. Yeah, headlights are a bit dodgy but I love the shape, the looks, the colour, the way that it seems to drive... if only I could afford one.

Ok, I am choosing colors and trim now. But a bit baffled by the fact that there is an OPTIONAL "sport" suspension. On a car like this?
What does it mean?
Does it mean the normal suspension is soggy and the sport suspension is the one to have, and non-retrofit-table?
Or does it mean bonehard fun-destroying dampers that ruins everything?
And what version was Chris driving?
What configurator are you using, or is it a brochure you've got? What does it mean?

I cant seem to spec any thing but aesthetics and wheels online.
A useful and entertaining vid, ta. (Could've done without the elevator music, mind.)
Depending on the info source, the 4C's width is 1864mm, 2000mm or 2010mm - hopefully the first mentioned is correct? And it'd be good to see a 4C alongside a Cayman and an Exige.
Plastic gearbox paddles, though
