I can't imagine a Range Rover driver doing anything to intimidate other road users or use the size of his vehicle to push others around.

Inconceivable.

In short, no. With a four week old providing my recent entertainment, I've barely done anything apart from try to sleep and wash soiled clothes, but each time I get woken I promise myself I will get round to that call. And shaving. And maybe having a shower. I like to keep time for PH, mind wink.

That's horrible.

My guess is that the RR made a mistake or did something silly. Not to the point of hurting anyone but a mistake that COULD HAVE... maybe just being a bolshy 4x4 driver.

However, this stupidity seemed to have been escalated by the white bike who fking brake tested him and the RR seemingly made contact with the bake of the white bike.

The rest is history.

It's pretty insane the RR drove through all the bikers, but who knows what was happening around his car at the time with bikers bringing him to a halt.

I too want to know more behind this story but as a biker myself, a lot of the guys in this video seemed like idiots - you only have to see what they are wearing on what would be a spirited ride to know they aren't the smartest guys in the world.

just speculating, what about if the driver of RR had done something horrendous initially - kidnapped someone, just robbed, killed etc, and the bikers were hunting him down for X reason - it certainly takes something pretty serious initially to get it to that stage - regardless - the person dead was till someone's dad, bro etc etc. if it was over something pointless then its a sad end, as I fear several lives have been ruined.
If that was the case, the bikers' actions of trying to stop him with a rolling roadblock are even more idiotic. If someone has just committed a violent crime, why would they have an issue with ploughing through a group of bikers? The fact that whoever recorded this has edited the start of the incident makes me suspicious as to who was in the wrong initially. If the RR driver was being a dick, I doubt they'd have edited it out. What happened at the end shows that the RR driver's initial attempts to escape are more than justified..

That's the problem with mob mentality. Most of those people probably initially just wanted to stop the bloke after the minor RTA.

When he drives into someone it becomes all the more important.

I don't think anyone comes out well in this, but I also think that in the same situation having seen a friend be deliberately driven into not many groups that large would just collectively think to pull over and allow the RR to safely proceed on it's way.

You'll find four week olds will awake whenever they feel like it, it's nothing to do with the noise from road users, it's just he's hungry or st himself, or just wants a cuddle.

If you've not called the cops about it and not been up to speak to the people doing it, how do you 1) know what is actually going on? And 2) expect it to ever stop if they are actually doing something wrong?

But murdering them with your car sounds far less hassle and inconvenience to a new parent than calling 101, your kid will be proud of you!

Have any of you ever been in your car and surrounded by a group/mob?

It's fking Terrifying!

i was quietly sitting one night with a mate waiting on his GF when a group of Areseholes came round the corner and one of them decided he would start, very quickly they all surrounded the car and started hitting it with bottles and kicking at my body work, about 10/15 people, i just got my window up in time to avoid a punch (good old manual windup windows) or worse.

I put it in first and slammed the car into about 5 of them, never looked back but my fried said a couple of them were lying on the ground.

His GF's big brother went round to the one who started it and gave him a visitors pass to the local A&E.

Its truly terrifying to be the the RR drivers situation, and i only had a small group in comparison of guys who are a lot smaller than most of the bikers shown here!

Any links to a news story yet, seeing as it's all over the internet I expect it to be a Daily Mail top story on the next half hour or so.
Give them a minute, they will need to ensure that they get their facts straight before publishing anything. hehe
They will be a bit slower on this one as they need to look up house prices in NYC.

Surely its impossible to be judgemental without knowing exactly what happened around the 50s mark

Option 1
Nasty RR driver got impatient with calm, rational bikers and put his foot down killing some

Option 2
Nice RR driver intimidated by large group of nasty people brandishing weapons so legitimately escaped as their life was in immediate danger

I suspect the reality is less clear cut

From what I have seen on t'internt the RR cut someone off. Also, the RR driver was beaten into a coma. So it looks like there could be 2 deaths from what started as a minor traffic incident. The end and beginning is missing as it makes the bikers look even more like a bunch of lawless thugs.

At around 00:45-00:50 it looks like biker who brake checked is reaching through the drivers window?

Interesting how terrified you were, but then instead of letting the coppers deal with it, you got someone to duff up the perpetrator..... A bit like these bikers do to this chap who's just knocked a few of them off and killed on of them, algedly!

The difference in your case is nothing happened to you except they banged on ( and presumably damaged ) your car. But still, having escaped and knocked a few of them over whilst doing so, you got come one to duff the perp up!!

That's pretty messed up if you don't mind me saying.

Personally I'd find the 100 or so bikers more intimidating than a single driver in a Ranger Rover.

Assuming there was some sort of incident before the video, and assuming the RR driver didn't stop, the the right action would have been to call the police. The bikers could easliy have followed the RR without needing to take the law into their own hands.

The bikers escalated the incident, and its ended up with someone dead, and by some accounts another person in a coma. Nobody is coming out of this a winner.
