Completely agree, his video diaries are superb.

He and Chris Harris could make a wonderful online tv channel for real petrolheads as opposed to the top gear troglodytes.

He should do a YouTube channel like Jay Leno does. Just him, a nice car to talk about and a chap to bounce questions off if needed. No point complicating it.

+1000!

Would love to see Harry carry on his video reviews in some shape or form.
Be great to see him and Harris bounce ideas and thoughts of each other too, a sort of OLD vs NEW.

Real shame - must admit I don't read Evo, but do enjoy his video diaries - really envy the lifestyle he has too. Awesome cars, awesome road trips... yet he seems like he's a really down to earth guy.

Was't it Jethro B and a couple of others that tried Drivers Republic - the online (video heavy) site, but that didn't quite happen so ended up back at evo?

Had the pleasure of meeting Harry on Skye whilst they were doing a super car thing. A proper gentleman beer

Big loss for Evo .

Good luck to him. I hope has has thought this through and that he has a Plan B and a Plan C if it doesn't work out. I'm sure it will though, he seems like a very intelligent man.

Yeah, he was the founder of the mag. End of an era, IMO.
It all went down hill when they got Trott in as editor. I cancelled my subscription years ago when I just got bored of the same old articles being recycled. The photos alone were no longer worth the cover price.

It's a shame, because it used to be a really great magazine.
I agree. I cancelled my sub, and now regularly buy Octane instead. Ironically, one of my favourite columns in Octane is Harry's 'Insider' report! Maybe I'm just getting older....

I now get my fix through Youtube: Drive, Roadkill, jay Leno's Garage, Mightycarmods of a bit of dicking about... there's tonnes of content on there that puts you closer to the action than evo manages.

It's a shame, because it used to be a really great magazine.
Roadkill is AWESOME. I look forward to a new episode of that, than I do Top Gear!

I think that will be quite a big miss for evo. I rated Harry over monkey harris too (sorry chris) so will be interested what happens to the mighty tome now.

I absolutely loved the video Harry made about the Lambo 50th Aniversary run in his Espada. I hope whatever he does next includes more of the same.

Stuart left us a few weeks ago now, last official day today. He's off to do new things and we wish him well too!

This yes

He came across as a true car enthusiast (and car geek), conveying his enthusiasm in the videos.

On paper (no pun intended) it looked like the future, but whatever reason it bombed.
I was never a fan, and I never really worked out why (as I like all three writers)

About 12 months too soon, and no youtube backing.

Drive seems to be doing a little better and they're starting to make good numbers across the board, not just Harris.

Sir Harry of Evo has gone, well well.

That is a shame. He seems a decent fellow although i have never had the pleasure of meeting him.

EVO seemed to get into a place where it seemed to be very smug and full of self importance. I particularly cringed when they seemed to claim that they single handedly taught the McLaren boys a few things and improved the 12c after sitting them down and telling them what was needed. I stopped buying it for a while after that. And I got bored reading about fast Renaults all the time.

The EVO website isnt great either, and the forum is no great shakes. I have no idea if Harry's presence at EVO was a contribution to the magazine's decline or not. I guess we will see.

I must say I too find Octane more agreeable. A bit less smug.

Would he possibly take Octane away as a lifestyle motoring 'online' from Dennis Publishing and make it something a little different. Supercars, auctions, driving accessories, tours and watches!!! All on an ipad / android format with heavy video content.

With 4G available why not, the market is ready, and so many people now have wifi at home too.

Am thinking Evo fills a gap but needs more digital content to be mainstream in an online world. Octane could be the future!!!
