That's a let down.

Strange move at his time of life.

And what exactly does it mean?? Create halo cars??

I can only assume the hours are minimal and the renumeration considerable.

Is it because you were banned from there... matteeboy. Weren't you also banned from Scoobynet??
I left of my own accord because of halfwit keyboard warriors like you and was never banned from SN. Nice try though (yet another) stalker freak.

From reading some of the tweets I can't help but think because of the considerable number of celebrity and wealthy contacts he must have made over the years whether it's some kind of ambassadorial role - so schmoozing potential high roller clients, finding out what sorts of things they'd like to see in future JLR products, and perhaps a more bespoke coachbuilding service for certain clients? Would almost wonder if Jag are going to get into even more upmarket sorts of cars - compete with Rolls Royce / Bentley sort of stuff perhaps?

Bit of a let down for me also also, realistically can't see JLR really investing in making any such Halo cars. But hey Harry is a dreamer, and a few of them have already come true for him so best of luck.

IIRC he works in the chassis/suspension department fine tuning that sort of thing.

I suspect HM is also well regarded by his fellow scribes so would make an excellent ambassador for the JLR products getting positive exposure in the press.

I'd also imagine there is plenty of opportunity for enjoyment in creating bespoke versions of Jags/Range Rovers/etc.

It does answer the question posed earlier about whether Harry would be able to keep the Range Rover long term loan vehicle!

That thought did cross my mind.

My heart most definitely sunk at the sight of the headline. Took a while to digest everything. I not long ago subscribed to Evo, and Harry's input was (mostly) a steady beacon as the articles waxed and waned in their quality. The video diaries, as praised by all, are just amazing. The Elan, the Integrale, the Veyron 1000km, all superb - I could go on but everyone's said all that needs to be already. A huge loss to the magazine IMO, and I will certainly be thinking hard about my subscription. However, whilst Catchpole stays with them, I'm sure I'll stay subscribed (Caterham on snow, that jaw-dropping black&white showcase with the AM Zagato..) It is him and Mr Metcalfe whose authority, knowledge and approachability I envy most.

Harry to PH? Wouldn't that be just the ticket...
+1!

It's not the first time someone from the media has gone to work in a senior role at JLR. Gavin Green, former editor of CAR and current columnist, worked for Land Rover as communications director in 2000-2002.
