How long till he strikes?
I can hear dueling banjos in the distance...
What's that coming over the hill? music
I can't outrun him! I'd need a very capable machine to escape...
You must be in TVR?

Appealing is the last word I'd use to describe an Audi A2!!!
I'd absolutely love an A2. Genuinely.

Me too, but like the Roadster they're a bit marmite. I can't stand marmite.

55MPG??!!

I would take that with a large pinch of salt- especially being remapped. Because the engine is so small it is pretty much always on the turbo- my remapped Brabus forTwo struggled to get 30 mpg ( although it was 'slightly' less aerodynamic!!)

Great if one likes zero storage space, huge understeer, awful gearboxes & engines that like to blow up.

Its useless gearbox is what really 'killed' this car. How could MB be so stupid?

i have a Smart 80 Roadster coupe - and they are shed load of fun. OK not sufficent to play 'Top Gear powerslides', but you would soon attract the BiB if you drove like on the public highway. Highly recomend them

As my comparison, I also own/drive a Lotus Exige, Nova Autotest Special, VW T5 4 motion, and a Audi RS6 Avant... and the Smart is darn near Exige/Elise fun when on public roads, almost as good a B Road traveler as the RS6 and you get 45mpg when driving hard. 50+ mpg when being sensible, which is way better than the T5 does on diesel

Snip...

why for sale????- i have too many toys and wife has said something has to go :-(

Nicer in the looks department than the ugly Boxster wannabe MR2. MR2 MUCH better driver though.

Still expensive. And slightly feminine.

The best thing about the Smart roadster is the lack of weight - a lesson that some manufacturers should take notice of.

As said above.

Suzuki Cappuccino
Honda Beat
and
Mazda AZ-1

All far better cars
(with far, far better gearboxes)
for far, far, far less.

Mine is remapped to 100bhp and averaged 49mpg over 1 year and 10,300 miles - mostly country roads and not driving with the fuel consumption in mind. Notice it is improved slightly when the narrower, lighter winter wheels are on (unsurprisingly) by about 3mpg. Really good and great fun in the snow with a set of Snowtracs on.

Zero Space? it has plenty? Me and the wife took her Coupe to lemans for five days with all the camping gear etc no problems unless you have just the "Notchback" but then it still has the front storage which is surprisingly big, We also took it down to Switzerland coming back via the Ring, anyone who says these are pants hasn't driven a sorted one they are massive fun!!

We've done likewise, twice.

The only thing I'll critise the Smart for is its lack of steering feel. Its really poor. That said, I can't wait to get mine back on the road. Its off to have it cylinders bored out slightly, raising the cc to 708.
