Mods, please don't move this to the MG forum as it concerns the need for a wide consensus on a colour option, thanks smile

Thank you for your help; I don't want to make a wrong decision as the budget won't extend to doing it again.

This is Tartan Red & it looks red in the shade but rather orange in the sun (as you can see here):-

This is Old English White:-

This is Mirage:-

This is Iris Blue:-

This is Aston Martin Silver Birch (couldn't find an example of it used on an MGB GT):-

Here are the paint options from the period, does anything else look good?

Oh.....

Where's my Poll?

I did put a Poll in but it doesn't appear here and now I can't add it!

Not to worry, just post replies and I'll add them up.

Signal red or Riviera blue imo - seen both in the flesh and they're rather lovely. Suit the shape down to the ground!

I'm not a fan of anything too dark.

Part of me thinks I'd like it a bit different as I'm spending a fair bit on a complete restoration and would like to see a difference for the money.

I like Red but the original colour was too orange in sunlight, If it stick with Red I'd want it a good red that still looks Red in any light.

It did look fine in the shade though.

This is how it used to look:-

Mineral blue looks good on GTs, IMHO.

Uhhm, I hadn't considered blue.

Surf Blue is a bit lighter and rather nice.

It may just be the lighting, but for me, the mineral blue is much nicer...

I was going to say exactly the same as this without an outside call on the Primrose if you are man enough for it.

I like Primrose.

My MGB is white (glacier white, I believe) and I think it's an absolutely horrible colour.

Yes, I like it too.

Oddly, my wife doesn't like it at all.

Mineral blue all day long.

On that type of car, a light colour makes it look cheap, crappy and old. A darker colour makes it look more classic and professional.

I reckon that's one reason the e-type looks so good in BR Green. Can you imagine a bright red e-type? Ugh.
