To settle a debate umongst some friends i need to calculate how fast a vehicle can take the "carousel" corner on the nordschleife - the trouble is the vehicle in question is a tractor (a Case Puma 160 to be exact). I can get the weight and dimensions if that helps.

Basically one friend says it'll roll and me and the other friend disagre having both driven tractors for a number of years.

"Karussell".

It'll go round on the banking at 25mph, which is its top speed (CVT, forwards).

Cars go through it at about 40mph when they take the banked bit, for comparison.

Nah shes got the 50k gearbox - 32 mph
This one is a CVT although the Full power shift would be the same speed

Trickier then.

I'd still say 32mph, but you're getting closer to the point when it'd not want to corner like that. I suspect your friend hasn't seen a tractor do much offroading on hillsides - they have a lower CoG than they look like they "should" have.

(A friend has a John Deere 6330, so 25mph is as fast as I've been in a tractor...)

Thanks for your response
Yeah i agree they are more stable than they look as for the speed
i know people who've not driven tractors tend to see them as a "nusiance" and "clogging up the road" but they are getting faster; them 8000 jcb fastracs can be specced for 80k!
