What do they do with all of those cars?

I know it may seem like a stupid question but if they are buying literally 'any car' some must only good for scrap?

Are they shipped overseas or all just sold in the UK?

They sell direct to the trade
Put them on the forecourts of their parent company(ies)to sell
Sell for scrap
Put a lot of through the auctions to sell

I imagine that good ones get retailed, middle ones get auctioned, and the worst ones get scrapped.

That would be why they pay rock bottom for the more obscure stuff (e.g. imports, classics, old stuff). There needs to be a liquid market for the car so that they can move it on quickly; they aren't in the business of car storage. For cars that have limited appeal the only way to do that is to offer a rock bottom price.

Apparently the car viewers also get a tenner in their pocket for every £100 they knock off the price the website gives you so they'll get them dirt cheap anyway.

It's owned by the same guys that own Carcraft so I'm assuming that's where the majority of purchases end up.

I believe their parent company are also the owners of a well known car sales/finance company who offer tasty high rates of interest on their loans.

So the model goes as below:

Buy cars below market value>Sell cars on finance with a nice pasting of interest on top.
