The EP3 doesn't handle better either, the steering on the earlier ones was an numb as could be and the later ones despite that improvement weren't as predictable or as sharp at the front end as the FN2.
Sorry for mentioning the EP3 again but I'm genuinely interested in how the steering on the FN2 compares.I've only driven the EP3 and really disliked the steering, if the FN2 is a lot better I might fancy one myself
Any more who have driven both care to comment?
And more on topic, is the ride on the FN2 as bad as some people say?

Driven both, the FN2's steering felt a bit more weighty, probably due to the car being a bit heavier. Not much in it, both electric systems so no amazing feedback. I've only driven the EP3 and really disliked the steering, if the FN2 is a lot better I might fancy one myself

The FN2's ride is no worse than say a 'sport' BMW for example. Don't think the EP3 is exactly a rolls royce in that department.

I did 80k in under 4 years. Relatively comfortable and can easily fit 3 people in the back.
I thought the FN2 was only a 4 seater? My wife drives one, i have an M3.....
16k miles.... maybe im spoilt with the M3, but its not somewhere i would want to drive 16k miles a year in.
My back hurt drivng 3 hours to Liverpool, and the engine noise is a little loud for my liking at 75 ish.
But again, it may be because i am spoilt.
Nice car , had it 2 years now... in black GT spec!
Had an EP3 a few years ago.... it lasted 4 weeks before i sold it. Really didnt like that car.

The FN2 seems weightier and is more feelsome to my hands, but it still isn't the last word in feedback - the ride is acceptable considering it is performance orientated, firm but not back breaking on the standard 18" alloys, but the optional 19" ones really send jolts through the cabin if you hit a pothole or deep grate.I've only driven the EP3 and really disliked the steering, if the FN2 is a lot better I might fancy one myself

Take it to someone like TDI North for a fast road set up, makes a hell of a difference apparently.

As a general point, I always try and buy a car with the standard alloy wheel size, as I don't believe manufacturers re-tune the suspension to suit different sizes. I've tried to confirm that for BMWs, but to no avail, so all I can say is that from my totally subjective seat of the pants feel, the cars I've tried with standard wheels normally ride and handle better than those without (eg a bog std 3 series on 16s, or an M3 on 19s).

Got a viewing on black one tonight. Fingers crossed!
2007 black on 47K. No good. It seems the first owner thought servicing was not required during the first three years and then KwikFit were a suitable service centre from then on. The first time it met a Honda tech was in 2011 at 38K. A shame as the car was the exact spec I wanted and was actually very tidy and perfect on the test drive.
The search continues.

Sadly that seems to be the norm with most 'quick' second hand jap cars in my experience.A shame as the car was the exact spec I wanted and was actually very tidy and perfect on the test drive.

Most are utter dogs or overpriced crap advertised on sycophantic forums like mlr.

Yet again I'm left to argue that if its really those things you want, you should have bought a DC2 or an EK9. Aggressive VTEC on a K20? bh please.
You won't see an EK9 for the price of a good EP3. Indeed, the price of the EK9 has already pitched them as something of a collector's item. Similarly, you'd bag a really good EP3 for £3000, which would see you in a rusted turd of a DC2 (most of them seem to be heading this way, sadly. Very, very rare to see a rusted EP3 though). So when you consider the viable alternative, the EP3 still makes a good case for itself. It's not a perfect car by any stretch, but at least it feels a bit naughty, and spritely, compared to the FN2 which looks a bit lard-arsed, feels a bit cheap and a bit GT-ish, and is inferior to the EP3.Baryonyx said:

It isn't inferior to an EP3!! I can't even see an EP3 in your Garage, so I can't even put it down to another brainwashed EP3 owner. What's up with you man!
I'll confirm one last time. The FN2 is everything the EP3 is, plus so much more!
I had one for a few months, few things I found to watch out for, rust under the windscreen rubber, I believe the rubber was too hard and cut into the paint, i got mine replaced under warrenty for a softer one and the roof painted courtesy of Honda. Synchromesh goes in third gear mine was on the way out, and a squeaky clutch pedal, other than terrible paint that seemed to attract stones, it was a good car, about 32 mpg taking it easy. :-)
