Right, I've agreed a deal on a type r and a half decent trade in on my Focus steybox, picking it up tomorrow afternoon... Feeling rather excited! It's red, 47k on the clock and in very good nick generally. A few paint issues, which are to be expected, but the dealer is respraying the bonnet (which was very heavily stonechipped) and sorting the scuffs on the corners of the front splitter so I'm pretty pleased with it.

First thing I want to get sorted asap is fitting an aux cable to the stereo so I can use my ipod - could anyone point me in the direction of where I can get one? And how difficult it is to fit? I've looked around and the only one I can find is this one, which appears only to fit the ep3 Civic. http://www.nexxia.co.uk/product.asp?s=Connects2%20...

Cheers.
Nice one, I think this thread is responsible for about 3 type R purchases now and I also convinced a co-worker to buy one!

The cable you need I believe is this one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Xcarlink-HONDA-Accord-Ci...

Best bet would be to check out http://www.civinfo.com/forum/index.php it's a brilliant resource for this gen of civic.

Post up some pics when you've got it home. smile

Thanks thumbup Is it difficult to fit the cable? Or something I'd be better off leaving in the hands of my local in car audio fitter, given that I'm pretty useless with wires and spanners?

I'll get a photo up soon, but I'll likely be out driving for most of the evening so it may have to wait! driving

Great decision! Apparently Milano Red is the fastest colour, not that I would know having a Nighthawk Black myself! :P
Enjoy the FN2 and as Horney says, get some pics up when you can! thumbup

Is the iPod cable not standard? Mine had one already in the cubby hole beneath the stereo. What I would like to do is modify it to work with micro USB but I can't see anything that does it.

Especially once it's stone chipped like the moon, just look at the dimples on golf balls - proven aerodynamics which only Honda have been brave enough to utilise

Only standard on models from '09 onwards AFAIK, the one I'm getting is an '07.

Ipod connection in storage next to handbrake was an option on pre facelift cars, however I think it was very rarely ticked, then was replaced with standard USB/AUX/Ipod connection from facelift(09 onwards).
My 57 plate has it and I'm yet to see it on another car from that age. It's useful but is only good for older ipods, I bought a 30gb Ipod classic purely for my car after i got it. smile

At 22 an HKS RSK Induction adds £30 per year to my policy so would be less or nothing for someone with far more driving experience I'd expect. it's the £300+ cost to buying the kit that I can't stomach just yet! smile
If it's the same type of 'cone' air filter as the S2000, you could just remove the airbox lid. Or drill the airbox on one side. Costs nothing but time if you've got a drill.

Mines an 07 plate and has it.

I'm actually slightly tempted just to buy an old iPod to use with it!
