Some lease deals for comparison (excluding VAT and any document fees, 10,000 miles):

The Quattroporte: 5,000 miles: £11,680, 8,000 miles: £12,960, 10,000 miles £13,901

740i SE - £10,628.80 http://www.fleetprices.co.uk/business-lease-cars/b...
Now that really puts things into perspective, the Quattroporte sounded very tempting although I've now realised its a massive car, also the appeal of one of these would have been the V8 obviously, not sure that the diesel would be quite as interesting.

The deal above on the 7 series does also sound very tempting, they have a monster specification as standard, again not a lot of money really for a car of its quality size and presence.

Maserati Quattroporte Diesel V6 D Saloon 4dr Auto

9+23 (2 Year)
5,000 Miles Per Annum
£364.99 + Vat
On the face of it a great car at relatively modest money

However unless you can claim the vat back, it's £584 a month ( inc dep) or £1.40 a mile, but I guess it is after all a Maserati

As far as I'm aware, at best you could claim back half the VAT but then you'd be crucified by BiK taxes and there'd be a corporation tax add on. You could get all the VAT back if it was a pool car, but I think that would be stretching the bounds of credibility somewhat...

I'm just about to lease a car, never done it before so looking through lots of websites trying to work out what is what.

My biggest problem is knowing what to get, anyone got any suggestions?

I like bigger cars (currently have a V8 E60) and have a budget of 400-500pm and want a deal over 2 years, diesel and ideally a 3.0 as I'm not sure how much get up and go a heavy 2.0tdi would have?

I've looked at the F10 BMW and the Audi A6, doesn't seem to be much more out there? Any recommendations?

If you go back a few pages you will see a fair amount of discussion about Mercedes E350 deals, about £290+VAT/month on 6+23 10,000m/yr.

So it seems I have missed the Focus ST deals as well as the Golf/M135i deals. This is starting to get annoying although I did just find a golf one for £170/month on a business lease.

Did you go for this mate?
I thought the style pack was a free option. On Ford website its listed as a free option when leasing. But if you opt to pay cash and go through the configurator, its a £275 option.
Been looking at this thread on ST forum though and some reckon it might have only been free until end of last year.
Style Pack £275

Anyway, looked at the ST-3 on that website and its £168 a month, no options.
Stolen from a Forum: "Sat nav, EATC, convienience pack, cruise control and auto wiper/lights/rear view mirror are standard. You save £275 over spec ing these on a ST2."

Maths is not great so can you tell me how you got to £4619 all in?
When i do £193 X 23 i get to £4439
But when i add on the initial rental of £990 i get £5429 all in.
Maths has been explained

In the end I did not go for it test drove one and decided it was not quick enough for me... It was a nice enough car but felt a bit cheap and nasty inside and realized going to be doing 15k miles a year with ease so for the cost of leasing a ST I have purchased an A4 TDI S Line instead for work and sticking a supercharger on my classic mini.

If I went for an ST would want to modify it and can't do that with the lease. Going to slum in my slow A4 for couple of years and make most of my 45p per mile millage then maybe sell the mini and the audi and buy something suitably stupid.

Actually the standard half alcantara seats are great, the shape makes up for no leather. The waiting list tells a story really.

7 Series deals were mentioned as an alternative.

Otherwise it's a question of looking for the best deal on a 530D or an E350.

I've just been offered a 330d X drive GT for reasonable money, bit ugly though!

I may well have to go down the Merc route as it seems I will be in for a fair wait for an A6 or a 530d F10.
