Total cost of Cental deal is £7787.64, and G2L £8153.70, so a difference of £366.06, or about £15 a month.

Neither of those are good deals in my opinion. You can buy one through Broadspeed for £27k so the lease doesn't look that much better than depreciation. Obviously we don't have depreciation figures yet but MkVI values are holding up very well.Total cost of Cental deal is £7787.64, and G2L £8153.70, so a difference of £366.06, or about £15 a month.

I guess no-one knows what is going to happen in 18 - 30 months time when the secondhand market is flooded with hundreds of standard Golf Rs!
Will be interesting to see. Might damage the usually strong GTI residuals slightly, as obviously if the R is going cheap it'll knock back GTI prices. Sales figures for the Hot Mk7 Golfs - http://www.motoringresearch.com/news/like-hot-cake...

They will be sat unloved on dealers forecourts, nobody would want a second hand one, they wont be able to give them away, Or, perhaps, in reality, punters will be clamouring to hand over twenty odd grand for a tidy two year old example with sensible miles.
It may seem that there are a lot being leased but the used market will snap them up double quick, nobody will be struggling to sell them.

Anyone seen a good deal on an Evoque Automatic - wifey wants one so has to be done!?
To be honest, the best i saw was a Stratstone deal. A PCP not Lease.Quite lumpy up front @£7990 down, but monthly's were £389 on a 6.9% APR over 48 months.
That was for a Dynamic 5 dr with pan roof, spare wheel and privacy.
They're putting in £2k at present, which makes it more palletable. Most Personal Lease deals were north of £500, and i need to keep the monthly amount to a minimum. This also gives you the option to sell it, and as the residuals are so strong that seems wise.
Heavy up front payment and low mileage exaggerates this deal, but even so it's not bad:
Skoda Octavia Scout 2.0TDi 4x4
£2000 + £69.99 per month 24 months 5000 miles per year
Higher mileage rates
£1,672 + £185.99 for 20k miles per year.

I'm not so sure, a mainstream branded car with complex 4WD system and high running costs? Used buyers are more cost conscious than new car buyers. Same applies to the M135i I suspect.Or, perhaps, in reality, punters will be clamouring to hand over twenty odd grand for a tidy two year old example with sensible miles.

That works for me, I was going to go with the VRS but that's 180 month all in and the scout is quite well spec'd too. Shame no xenons but mustn't grumble and all that. I'm just wondering if there will be any crazier deals to come, I fancy a golf R estate to accompany the 5dr Skoda Octavia Scout 2.0TDi 4x4

In fact, do you REALLY want the "cheapest" of anything? It's spitty and miserable to live on the cheapest stuff. ...Life is for living!
Really, most people want a good product, excellent service (outstanding in fact), witty banter, fun, and a feel-good factor. Life is emotional. Stop being so bloody tight.
To be honest, I'm not sure that's entirely true.Really, most people want a good product, excellent service (outstanding in fact), witty banter, fun, and a feel-good factor. Life is emotional. Stop being so bloody tight.
If you asked anyone whether they would like to pay more for exactly the same car if they got some witty banter thrown in, I don't think there would be many takers.
