I can think of a number of large estates that I'd like to own as driving tools...

Agreed. That's why I didn't and wouldn't go for an XC90 again.

All the same to me if I am honest. Mildly preferable to something like an XC60, but half as much money again meaning that they are very expensive cars for what amounts to a modestly quick diesel in my eyes.
Much too ordinary for their price tags for me.

Preaching to the choir my friend; I'd much rather a large petrol powered rapid estate. They are few and far between...

So, back to a significantly more generic derv family wagon.

I have an E350 coupe, it's pretty to look at but dull to drive and I can't imagine that the estate would provide more thrills... Pretty sure a 550i estate would be a good bet, however.

Just had a major pisser with my SLK.

It's on a 24 month Merc Agility. Due back on June 20th - got another ordered to replace it.

However I'm having to have a "B" service next week - five hundred and three quid! frown
Five hundred quid service on a car I have to give back a few weeks later. No doubt they'll want another fortune for the kerbed alloys....... frown

Not sure if it's a good deal or not but Sandals BMW are offering a M135i 3 door (auto + met) for £500 down and £399 per month on a PCP (so VAT inclusive) but the term is 48mths.

Get the alloys refurbed yourself if they're damaged outside of the wear and tear guidelines, it will definitely save you money.

You could give them a call and ask them what the charge is for missing a service. When my lease car went back they had some numpty who couldn't read the service book and tried to bill me for missing a service. The penalty charge? £175. The cost of the service? £180. I got the charge cancelled by sending them a copy of the invoice but it was still galling that I could have saved money by skipping the service.

definitely financial benefit in resetting the service interval warning yourself (condition/time based computer) a few months after a service/a few thousand miles after the last one if ever there is one! (presuming its a computer system - "the car never said it needed a service...")

For a lease car anyway...

Mine was on a merc agility agreement and they said that there is a 30 days grace period. I got away with it OK with a few days to spare!

BCA came to collect and I got away with some minor scuffs on car and wheels. A nervous 30 minutes :-)

Volvo XC60 R-Design for £278.00 both personel deals, anyone got anything better?
What website is the XC60 on please?
If you are looking at the XC60 from G2L and they run out, try your local Volvo dealer, I was going to go for the XC60 and went to Marshalls in Nottingham to look at one in the flesh, they were able to provide a quote that wasn't far off the G2L Price (about £10 per month more). In the end I went for the Qashqai as it worked out approx. £50 per month less + additional fuel savings (approx. 10mpg more from the Qashqai)

My CLK was due a B service when it went back (indicator on), I asked Merc and they weren't bothered.

There was a thread about this on one of the MB forums the other day - the car is due back two days before the 3rd service is due and MB Finance told the owner he didn't need to get it serviced.

I have to say that contradicts other stuff I've seen, which basically says that if you use the car for 2 or 3 yrs then it has to be serviced two or three times (that's assuming it doesn't reach the service mileage first). A forum member with Merc GL was threatened with a big penalty if he didn't get the car serviced before return.

Your car seems to be calling for a service early - is that due to mileage? And £503 seems top price to say the least for a B service and brake fluid change.

Just checked: 30 days or 500 miles. So 500 quid it is, then. That is really, really annoying.

Also check about returning early? You would still make the remainder of payments but might be a cheaper way out?
