I went in to the BMW garage yesterday and pretty much fell in love with the 3 Series after a test drive!
The figures seem quite high though on a PCP deal.
£4000 deposit
£350 per month
48 month contract
8000 miles
The car is a 320d auto with M Sport Plus Pack which has upgraded wheels, brakes and sound system..
I've had a quick look at leasing deals and they appear to be more attractive.
Egon Car Leasing have a 320d M Sport on a 9+35 deal £262 per month Inc VAT.
Am I right in thinking that I should go down a lease route if I want a new 3 Series rather than PCP with BMW? Any advice welcome guys.
The leasing deal is definitely better, but for that price i'm guessing its going to be a standard car, i.e. no m sport plus pack, upgraded wheels etc.The figures seem quite high though on a PCP deal.

If you add the options you want to the lease the price is likely to climb quickly, as you'll pay the full cost or near enough the full cost of the additional options over the lease period.
That is why in the end I went for a 4 series, as it had the stuff I wanted as standard, i.e. heated seats, professional media, etc.

But gawd, they look so st
At least they look different than everything else - I don't mind the looks as long as the colour combination is ok - thanks to safety requirements etc most cars look like clones with different grill, lights and slash down the side.-Z- said:
Just to put that into context I'm having a 430d GC MSport with pro nav being delivered next month on lease with £approx £2200 deposit and £360/mnth for 24 mnths - Direct from Dick Lovett BMW
That's a good deal, assume they'd easily be able to do similar on a 420d for less than £300 a month with a similar deposit?I've been getting a couple of quotes and it seems the options are pushing the prices up massively. I think a 4 series might be a better option as mentioned earlier in the thread...

I had one as a hire car a few weeks ago when I was in Holland on business. Black on black, which wasn't a great combination IMO, prefer the more striking combinations myself. No idea what size engine it had, just that it was petrol and reasonably peppy. Not bad to drive either. The trip before that I was given a Dacia Duster and I much preferred the Citroen.
Knock yourself out... I've arranged a test drive in one on Sunday. Will see what they are like.
The seats are awful because they have apparently been designed to be like an arm chair. There is also a weird bit of material between the top bit of the seat and the bottom. This pressed on my lower back/pelvis area and it wasn't very pleasant. There doesn't seem to be that much support in the seats and I'm not a skinny person at all. I should have filled what was available, but you could get two people in the Cactus accommodation.
Oh well. Time to look at something else.

I'm currently looking to get a 5dr hot hatch, and spotted a Golf R lease deal for £2,375.89 down, £263.99 per month for 24 months 8k miles p.a.
https://www.firstvehicleleasing.co.uk/car-leasing/...
Seems like a cracking deal unless I'm missing something?
Check out vehicle savers. They are doing the 5dr Golf R for £215 incl vat on a 9x23 (just shy of £2k). I think that's based on 5k mileshttps://www.firstvehicleleasing.co.uk/car-leasing/...

If anyone is interested in BMW 1 Series lease there is a good deal available at the moment. I got my deal through a BMW main dealer but they will match any like for like price only. But I also found a similar price from Nationwide Vehicle contracts.
My mileage is high at 20k, but I got a highly spec BMW 120d Auto M Sport Plus on a great 3 year deal and 6 months up front. I have had a look at other cars lease deals in the markert similar to the 1 series and nothing has come close in terms of monthly prices. Excess mileage is 6.4p inclusive of VAT.
Just got to wait til December now, but it should liven up the daily commute.

I know nowt about this car - I'm not sure I knew it even existed or whether I have ever seen one on the road, but it has a low upfront and reasonable monthly if it is a equivalent to a 3 series. And is in stock.

I know the 4 cylinder engines and gearbox combos are borrowed from the Mercedes C class; no idea if any other parts are shared. The smaller Q30 is a direct clone of the mercedes a-class.https://www.nationwidevehiclecontracts.co.uk/Infin...

Car itself is ok, but as indicated, gear change is indeed floppy, seats are awful (my back hurt after a ten minute test drive) and the pedal box is tiny. I have size 13 feet and they were hitting the top of the box. The pedals are also very close together and you really don't get a great deal of room length wise.
Interesting. I'm 6'3, 95kg with size 12 feet and a bad back, and I found the Cactus to be really comfy and I drove one for about 4hrs.The seats are awful because they have apparently been designed to be like an arm chair. Just goes to prove that you should always test drive a car before buying/leasing!
