Speed cameras aren't about reducing deaths, that's just the flimsy excuse for raising huge amounts of revenue.

If they really cared about deaths in the UK, they'd be spending money on helping those who are suicidal, banning smoking outright, cleaning up hospital wards to reduce infection rates in patients... But none of those options makes them money.

It's ALL about the money.

Its the reputation that makes it the most dangerous road. Absoloute sweet FA to do with the actual road itself. There's nothing bloody wrong with it. Its fkwits that slow right down because they are apparently driving on a really dangerous road that cause accidents......But then most people are just plain thick!

Never had any trouble apart from people that think their cars top speed is 40mph, and yet i can still overtake. I could probably pick a handful of roads that don't get to the statistics that are much worse. The A86 in scotland is apparantly a very dangerous road.....Nope its a bloody good one is what it is. Even postie can make his 15yr old Escort van hustle down it at a fair old lick than the tools who write these statistics could ever imagine possible.

There's one clincher though overtake these idiots coming into or exiting a corner and somehow they'll deem you as contributing to why its a dangerous road.

The 'average' speed cameras aren't what I'd call average either. They just take your speed passing two cameras, add them together and halve it. I wrongly assumed they took your average speed over the distance between the cameras. SAC for me frown
Is this true? Do 40 past one and 60 past the next and you have an 'average' of 50. Ignoring the time taken to drive between the two cameras?
Dont all average speed cams work this way wink
Youve not seen some drivers on the motorway haring between the cams safe in the knowledge the average past the pair is ok?
How else do you do average scratchchin

I see so many people doing that I do start to question whether it's me who's got it wrong!
