I shudder when I see a parent riding their youngsters in one of these. No protection whatsoever if rear ended.

What, use it to make a burning torch to keep you warm and light the way on the long and arduous journey of under one whole mile?

No idea how my parents coped. We didn't have a car until I was 19. I guess I didn't go to little school. wobble

Cars are good. When it's pissing it down early on a winter morning a mile seems like a complete pain. Leave the 100% walking option to the sandals brigade and chose when to walk (eg sunny day) rather than being forced to.

The car will be absolutely fine if you take it out for a jaunt at the weekend.

Nonsense. No matter how far your commute is, we still travel the same distance 'cold'. An engine won't magically heal itself after a few miles.
No but his will never get warm and the condensation will rot the exhaust, the battrey will most likely die as its not getting charged and the inside of the car will get condensation in it which will never clear as the car will not be warmed up properly.

hehe Nice to see the right attitude has prevailed! Your kid will be healthier having lived outside rather than in a sanitised box.

Walking is good when you chose to walk (eg on a sunny day you can't beat a good stroll). It's horrible to HAVE to walk. No thanks!

Its not a great distance 7-12mins gentle walk - also helps mummy lose her maternity tummy wink or helps wear off the cakes they have at "groups" every day

C63 AMG, its the only option.

Warm and comfortable for baby, much fun for you.

You could drift the whole way there.

Or drive the long way to the nursery? Kiddy doesn't die of coldness and the car does die of coldness either. Problem solved

Fast back to 1967, the family of POD gave birth to child number 4, New POD.

They had one car, which Daddy POD, used to get to work in the big city, and Mummy POD would have to take Bob and Sue POD to primary school, and drag Toddler POD and New POD both kicking and screaming wherever she needed to go. Usually to the bus stop to get a bus into the little town, in order to buy the shopping for the next few days. Rain, Snow or dangerous sun shine.

At the weekends, after Church, the family POD would be dragged up the local hills "for a spot of fresh air" and there are pictures of New POD as a Toddler in a snow blizzard looking like a snow child.

We somehow survived. Age 5 new POD was walked 1.5 mile to the nearest school, and after school, would somehow find his way home. God knows how we survived, because New POD grew up and wouldn't let his kids walk 400 yards home from school, until aged 9.

My commute to work is only 2 miles. I have a '97 volvo 940 petrol for this. The short drive has never done that any harm smile
