Not quite sure how to start this so I'll jump straight in. About a month and a half ago I got a letter from HonKong:

Inside was nothing but a single white crayon:

No note, no message, no return address, nothing but crayon. It was sent to my work address.

Does anyone know what's going on here? I've searched and found that I wasn't alone, I found some guys on a transformers collectors' forum who got something very similar:

This is a real head scratcher and I'm open to any and all theories PH folk may have, go nuts...

You're a marked man. Do you often go out alone at night...?

It tastes of crayon, although I don't know what crayon tastes like, I might go to Ryman for lunch...

I bet it's cocaine, crafted into the shape of a crayon.

Nothing this year but I have previously ordered stuff from eBay. In all cases I put the company name in my work address, this didn't have it...

It's a tracking marker. Scammy company sends out worthless item to random address and uses that for the tracking number to issue to the scammed client. Client sees item has been shipped to their country with no specific address details and will eventually see it as delivered.

aholes - I assume the random address comes from some marketing list somewhere?

I just had some tyres delivered, and I pointed out the big milk churn type thing on the van.

Driver said "You seriously don't want to know whats in that!"

Me: "Hmm?"

Driver: " Its full of bull seaman" , "its our biggest contract".

Me: " Ok.... Well thanks for the tyres."

Just saying it could be worse.

This is the most likely explanation. Thanks!

Now what are the odds that I can track down the person who got scammed?

The tracking number is rc289640643hk, with some luck, someone might google it and find this thread.
