Wow - I've just discovered that every car I own (even the 35 year old one) is fitted with automatic lights and DRL's.

Such progress!

Sounds far safer than most cars with DRLs which only light the front and not the rear - cue idiots driving grey cars in the pissing rain with no lighting apart from the imagine LED strips at the front!
