I got a pair for the front of my Mazda 3 mps and they perform really well - better then the Potenza's that were on the fronts before. Wear is a concern so will keep an eye on this.

Would these function well in lower temperature over winter? I know it won't rival a dedicated winter tyre in cold but hopefully would be better than what I run atm.

Was tempted to get a set for my RX8 in the spring but they seem to have gone up from £65 in 225/45/18 to £90, dunno if this is just due to the Brexit.

They have no special characteristics in low temperatures compared to other summer tyres.

Maybe a supply issue, ive notice for 205/45r17 that they have all gone up everywhere bar camskill which still lists them as £60 (tireleader, blackcircles & oponeo all list at £85-90)

They feel a bit "hard" in the winter months but they of course perform very well as the road surface is almost always wet in December through to February due to the low sun and shadows making it hard for water to dry as well as the cold temperatures and dew so naturally they are going to perform very well.

I've used Rainsport 3's on track and was so impressed with them. No idea you could drive so fast in the wet! If I had a set of Toyota T1R's (the budget tyres everyone seems to think are amazing when they really arent) I would have gone off on the first corner trying to drive that fast!

Well event called me back and said they could source them. They say they are rationalising all the different brands they sell - frustrating as RS3 consistently seem to come out as one of the best mid range tyres you can buy. Not sure where I will get them if a mobile fitter won't do it, have gone the camskill / local guy before now but would trust them with decent wheels.

Turned out quite pricey - £90 a corner for 225/50 R16 fitted - £60 from camskill.

Rainsports used by Andy Forrest on his time attack Impreza, a wet lap around Knockhill anti-clockwise. If it works on a car like that then they should be good enough for the road!

I had the same dilemma... in the end opted for the Rainsports for the time being, will swap to a set of bombproof 15" steels with winter tyres if things get that bad. Camskill were reasonably priced, I paid £236.00 delivered for 4 x 225/40/R18 which seemed fairly good.

Bit of a thread necro, I've just put a set of those on my 996 911 (225/40/18 + 265/35/18) and compared to the Pzero's i had before they feel like driving on jelly! Should i bump up pressures? running recommended 36/44psi.

they don't have the stiffest sidewalls but I find they grip well in the wet

We have the rain experts on our clubman, they seem to really get better after around 1000 miles, think because they are deeper tread the feel a little more squidgy.

I really rate them and ride quailty has really improved, never known a tyre deal with standing water so well.

Has anybody experience a droning noise with them? I've just bought a 350Z with them fitted and the car is making that noise like a wheel bearing failing, which I know can also be caused by tyres.

Put a set on the front of my 2013 Fiesta ST and have been impressed by them.

They replaced the Bridgestone Potenzas which always gave a vague and light steering feel, these made the steering much better and grip has never been an issue.

I've been reports that they can drone if they wear unevenly!

Most tyres drone if they wear unevenly especially if it's treadstepping or sawtoothing.

I have had them on the Scirocco since October last year and in that time I've done 8000 miles and I'll admit they have surpassed my expectations. The wear seems ok - fronts are on about 5mm and the rears seem pretty much untouched but ultimately replacement is something I do annually anyway so if it's there or thereabouts I shall be pleased. I do agree about the noise, they are a long way from being quiet but that aside I am delighted with them - the grip is exceptionally good in either wet or dry conditions. I am going to be getting a set for the Saab 93 I have just bought as a daily. Thumbs up from me!

They seem to be wearing ok. Silly question, but are they sided/directional? When you look at the rear of the car, the treads are running in opposite directions on the left and right. That doesn't seem right to me.

They have an outside and an inside but can be mounted on either side of the car provided the outside of the tyre is on the outside.
Make sense?

Good stuff, just bought a shed with ditchfinders and one good tyre- a brand new RainSport3, so may try fitting them to the other 3!

I needed 4 tyres for the fake taxi, normally I'd go straight for vredestein ultrac sessanta, but the best price I could get these fitted for was £90 a corner fk paying that for the car.

The Rainsport 3's came in at £75 a wheel at the local garage.

First impressions after 500 miles are, they're fine.

They grip fine in wet and dry, plenty of feedback from the tyre when pushing on a bit. Seem to absorb bumps very well.

I get a few mpg less than on the Vredestein, there does seem a bit more tread block movement than i'm used to and the tyre noise is louder. I doubt i'll get the same mileage out of them as well but who cares.

All in all as expected a competent tyre, ample grip in different conditions and you'd be hard pushed to tell the difference in terms of real world noticeable performance between these mid range tyre v a premium tyre.

Anyone fitting these for the road should have little problem with them.
