Used to run these on my FWD Saab V6 as they went through tyres quickly and the Uniroyal latest at least twice as many miles.

I want them on my current daily but I need 225 40 r19’s on the front which uniroyal dont do.

Any problem with fitting 235 40 r19 on the same wheel. car is a rwd bmw.

Only issues you may run into is clearance, but tbh if 225 is factory fit then 235 should be ok, I’ve run different size tyres on loads of things, just make sure your load rating is correct and you should be fine, it depends where they have taken the speed reading and how accurate it is from factory, if it was spot on before the speedo may underead slightly so the speedo reads 60 but your actually slightly over that, most of the time in my experience you just end up with the speedo being more accurate as they tend to be a bit optimistic from factory.

What do you have on the rears? Is it a 255 or bigger?

car is a 340i

tyres on there are 225 40 r19 89y on the front and 255 35 r19 92y all pzero’s
uniroyal have 235 40 r19 96y for the front and 255 35 r19 96y for the rear.

I am trying to get away from the run flats.

You just need to find out if you have the clearance, but in my experience you should be fine, actually running the tyre won’t cause any harm, you’ll probably need to see how close the current tyre is to the bodywork and clearance inside the wheel well regarding upright and arch liner, your only increasing the tyre width by 10mm so 5mm either side, and you’ll be increasing the diameter ever so slightly too, like said in my experience, most manufactures allow a bit of breathing space, but I’m still stuck in the past and I know that newer cars are more in the “cool” gang in regards to styling compared to old so don’t want to say for certain as I haven’t actually done it to that Car myself.

Does anyone else find that once these tyres wear down to around 3-4mm they are dreadful?!

Not sure, still on 5mm and 7mm here and thus far seem to be fine in the freezing temperatures

Not had snow yet but time will tell.

Mine are on about 2mm on the front & are ok. Will be replaced with new ones if I can find anywhere that sells them other than Black Circles. ATS, Kwik Fix, National .... none have them online.

Did you fit these on the 340i or something else in the end?

How do the new tyres compare with the runflats?

RS3's are my go-to choice, had them on a few cars but they do (in standard sidewall) have a fair amount of flex.
Wife has them on her mk2 TT and I think they arent that great when pushing (not for grip but sidewall flex) but its her car and she loves them.
If I keep my E91 I will be going for RS3 xl's as I do like to push nw and again, though I currently have a set of Uniroyal winters in 16" that are surprisingly good on the car..... Perhaps the Audi needs the dampers sorting..... smile

I'd just like to add these have been stupendous in the snow recently.
I haven't got stuck or close to stuck once. Not saying that's just down to the tyre but for £75 a corner I'm bloody delighted.

No I stuck with the correct sizes in the end and fitted Falkens to see what they would be like. The car is much quieter and steering much lighter which is better. So far they seem better than the P Zero runflats that were on there.

I had these on my old fiesta and thought they were brilliant tyres. Felt very confident in really bad rain, bit softer in the summer, and winter.. I had a set of winters so can't comment.

Would definitely buy them again.

Once the wear, it's standard issue that their performance will drop... her's are at 4/5mm and standing water is more noticeable at speed but in damp / wet conditions they're continuing to be very good. Also seem quite good in the snow, granted just had a light dusting but it's not been thwarted where another couple of cars were. Drove it today too, slush, freezing and wet roads and no issues. Really quite impressed with them.

I notice that there is a Uniroyal Rainsport 3 tyre available.

Has anybody used them? Good, bad, indifferent?
I need to get a set of 4 new tyres to replace the OE set of Continentals on my 2016 Volvo XC90 - and I really like Uniroyal Rain Sport. I had a set on a C class estate which were great.

An I mad to be thinking of a set of RainSport 3 for all corners of my XC90? A fat heavy SUV??

Thy come in less than £100 and a like for like on the conti would be £230+

I run them on the boring car. Good dry weather grip. Almost as good a performance tyre. In the wet though they’re absolutlety faultless. If anything the car feels more planted and i’d Happily do 70mph in torrential rain (traffic permitting). They are soft though. Didn’t get much more than 12,000 miles on the fronts, slightly more on the back on the fwd A4. Milton Keynes driving mainly though, which isn’t kind on tyres.

On a big SUV I don’t imagine they’ll feel wobbly or anything (my boss had them on his FFRR) but don’t expect them to last. Maybe offset this against the fact that they’re mega-cheap for a good tyre.

I have has rs2's all round for years and been very happy with them. I recently replaced the rears with 3's and they have ruined the feel on hard cornering, feel very wallowy when pushing on.

They feel quite wallowy for the first 1000 miles, they seem to have crazy long tread blocks from new. I'm on my 4th set now.

They have fantastic grip as the temperatures rise, but they do wear fairly quickly. I get about 12-14k on an Insignia.

To anyone with an Amazon business account, there seems to be really good discount on these at the moment (never thought to look Amazon before!)

I got 4 in 245/45r18 for £82 a corner, arranged for fitting for 7 quid a corner locally.

They come in 2 sidewall strengths, standard and XL. My wifes are standard on the TT and it wallows, the XL's on mt e91 are much firmer. But no where near as firm as the bloody RFT's I got rid of.

I have XLs on my Mondeo and they are good.

Standard ones on the Mk6 Fiesta -which is a very good handling car.
