What company car to expect

Sounds about right. A lot of places now have pretty wide bands so that one can pay to trade up and cash out to trade down. Diesel.
Run.
Not uncommon to have an FD park her Golf Bluemotion nest to your newest sproggy rep who has ordered her white Audi A5 with the biggest wheels available.
Our place just offers BMW, Audi and VW - the rationale being there is a suitable car for all on most budgets.
Long live the "I'll opt out and use the cash to run my own car thanks" box I say!
It will depend on the company and what ever policy they have in place.
My sales team can have what they like but I give them set rules.
Must be 4 or 5 door and no smaller than a Golf / Focus
No MPV, SUV, so a standard saloon, hatch, estate.
Lease cost no more than a full maintained Passat TDI 140 Sport Estate with metallic paint.
One has a 320 Ed and the other an A3 Sportback S line, they just ask our lease company what deals they have on when it's time to pick their cars.
All companies will have different rules and it may also depend what they have free in the company car park.
As for letting them opt out. No chance if I provide the car then I have say in how well it is looked after and how clean it is kept. Tried the opt out once and ended up with one of those people that never washed his car or serviced it! Then the agro of making sure it was taxed, mot'd and insured properly it became an admin hassle that I couldn't be bothered with. So that option is not on the table for my employees.

Focus/Mondeo.
Typically you're given a car with a maintenance agreement (service, tyres etc)
You pay the Benefit In Kind (BIK) in tax, deducted from your monthly salary.
Hassle free motoring.
Are you expected to keep it clean and tidy as i live in the middle of a farm so all cars we own get absolutely covered in stTypically you're given a car with a maintenance agreement (service, tyres etc)

Also we live miles from any road which has seen a gritter this century so are you allowed to fit winter rubber or do you get stuck with foot wide cut slicks on the 14 foot of diesel dull you get given?
And how much BIK tax could i expect from 14 foot of german diesel dull like a 320Depressing

poverty spec, mind you.
At near 40 I'm old enough to know what poverty spec truly means. My first car, a Fiesta Popular Plus - 4sp manual, FM stereo, choke, foot pump screen wash and no rear screen demist. All cars today are luxury to me.

Guys I know with company cars keep them unwashed and unhoovered for most of the year. Also we live miles from any road which has seen a gritter this century so are you allowed to fit winter rubber or do you get stuck with foot wide cut slicks on the 14 foot of diesel dull you get given?
I've no idea about winter tyres though. I imagine that would be your on-cost should you want them.
