Gonna need them next week anyway. We all going to get eaten by polar bears or something,
can't we get them all to club together and drag the mainland closer to Jersey?

But they don't. It's just your personal insecurities playing havoc with you. You wrote yourself that you had the issue with regards to the initial feeling of being on a 'pedestool'. It is a personal issue of yours that you are trying to excuse by blaming the product.

I don't know what the 'banghead' smiley is for; I agree with DonkeyApple! Most people couldn't give a stuff what you drive. The ones that hate all 4x4s/SUVs for no reason…well they're just being tcensoredts.

That is a very lovely 166, I have always fancied one of those.

They are great cars-chassis and engines are brilliant. Usual Honda reliability too-more fun IMO than most French hatches.

They are very cheap now too but unfortunately a lot have been thrashed.
To tell the truth they have always been a car I've never had any interest in, but after having driven one I understand the appeal and appreciate them although it's something I probably wouldn't buy myself I think their fun to drive.

You would have thought that driving around in an Aygo would have desensitised him.

Dear or dear. I think I would rather get the bus.

I just don't see the appeal of the 166 at all? My father in law had one and I just didn't get it, it wasn't particularly fast, it wasn't very well put together and it wasn't very comfy, plus it depreciated like nothing else, it had already lost 50% at around 18 months when he bought it and 3 years later it was worth sod all.
He bought a 3.1d Izuzu Trooper after that by the way. haha

And the Aygo is no good for anything other than a city car. That to me is more pointless than any 4x4.
Again flimsy build, bouncy suspension, and wobbly if you do take it onto a main road.
Best thing about the Aygo is the residuals.

This.

The Porsche is great fun to push, if you're in the mood for feeling tied to th horizon by a taut bungee and are or a track or don't care about keepin your licence. In traffic it's like being on a racehorse in a crowded stable.

The RR is serene, imperious and relaxing. It engenders a different mindset and a different style of driving.

Sometimes I want one and sonetimes I want the other.
I share the same view as you between the SL and the RR, interestingly enough I nearly went for a 996 Turbo instead of the SL.

If you want luxury but don't want an S Class, 7 Series or A8 etc. then you have little choice other than a 4x4.

Customer of mine has just picked up his new RR, and he said it is that good that he has sold his Bentley, it made the Bentley redundant. I think that says a lot about how luxurious these can feel compared with a big estate.

Ironically I saw one being driven by an aggressive idiot with no comprehension on braking distance or lane discipline in London today and another Alfa holding us all up by travelling at 10mph below limit - should we ban them?

I was trying to show the poster the difference between and Aygo which I don't own and a 166 which I do. Isuzu trooper is a stunning looking motor I can see why he swapped.
Anyway you didn't like the 166. Clarkson loved it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GT7dpPQ43ac
"God I love this car" he said. Bet he never said that about an Isuzu Trooper. No I didn't buy it because he liked it either...

I thought you had the Aygo as well.
We bought one in 2010, was after having a 107 on holiday, I was doing my bit for going green, but it never got used.

I like the design of the 166, but just didn't excite me in any way at all.

His was a V6, 3.2 I think it was.
I think he had problems with the gear box in the end, or something like that.

I think and Alfa is one of those brands that you love despite some of the foibles.
