Hi there,

Go easy its my first post!

I bought my mercedes CLK 320 CDI from a main dealer a few months back and I haven't received a V5. I've still got the original V5C/2 & V5C/4 parts (section 10.11.12). I'm due to start a new job in a week and I need to sell my car quite quickly now as I've been offered a company car.

Can I sell my car without the actual V5 doc using the V5c? I have full service history, receipt order form the dealership and in the last two months have had a new windscreen put in as there was a chip in it and also spent £500 on a problem that arose. Again all with receipts.

I'm not sure how you would record the change of keeper without the logbook.
Have you contacted DVLA to find out where your logbook is?
I would imagine that it's got lost in the post somewhere if you hadn't received it within a couple of weeks of purchase.
There is a form on their website to apply for a replacement logbook, I'd suggest doing that anyway as even if it was possible to sell it, the lack of logbook may put off purchasers (despite your other documentation).

So you've got the hand written new keeper slip that the dealer gave you off the main V5 when you bought it but no V5?

Whats on the part 4 section?

I'd not be buying it off you without the full V5 at your address.

They come back pretty quick from DVLA so you should ask for one.

What document do you think you'll give the new keeper to register it at DVLA?

I'll get in touch with the DVLA and post the V5c off with a V62. It says that you can do this and they will send you a replacement?

thanks for the help
