Most ridiculous size tyres on car

You do realise that's a subjective statement you've made?!?
Not really, no. What reasons, other than financial, are there to select a 2.0 TDI over a 3.0 TDI?kmpowell said:
I bought it lightly used, so I didn't have to pay the ridiculous £1800 for the 20" upgrade, and as part of the deal they put on 4 brand new tyres which will serve me the time I own the car, proving I don't get a puncture, this negates any comments re economy.
So you only intend to keep it for circa 10-15k miles?kmpowell said:
Your point re the brakes, again, is subjective, because quite frankly I couldn't care less what the brakes look like.
I didn't even mention brakes, that was somebody else. You do care what the car looks like, though, or you'd not have chosen a white S-Line on 20 inch wheels. The entire thing is an excercise in styling (Not that there is a single thing wrong with that!).

I realise that most cars these days come with wide tyres but was surprised when shopping for a diesel estate. The Audi A6 s line 2.0 tdi comes with 255 profile tyres which seems ridiculous.

anyone running a road car with 30/35 or 40 series tyres on anything other than a supercar is a muppet.
Interesting... I fall into your categories of 'ridiculous' and 'muppet', as my 2.0TDi S-Line Avant is specced with the 20" rotors shod in 255/35/20 rubber.I'm not sure how me buying something that was supplied by the factory/brand categorises me in that way, especially as the wheels [in my opinion] suit the car well and don't look out of proportion to the rest of the car. If I was driving around in the aftermarket/replica A3 mentioned previously in this thread, then maybe, but your generalisations above perplex me, somewhat, for my situation...
BTW I believe 'rotor' referres to the brake disc, but I perhaps I've been outdated

Mike (The Streets) Skinner runs his RR on 22s that are not just big but vulgar.
I hate big inch rims eg 20"+, especially on 4x4s etc, but I like this, so I am a muppet... aka_kerrly said:
I'd rock that, the wheels hint at dragster to me. The interior on the other hand isn't quite to my taste.
Thanks for confirming what I thought I already knew... that Mike Skinner is a bit of a vagina. Wrong, wrong, wrong from start to finish, especially dem rimzzzzz...E65Ross said:

Does the standard wheel fitment on a 335i really have 30 profile tyres?
No, standard are 225/50R17 on a 335iZyp said:
Got 265/35 19 on the rear of our Alpina D3.
Standard fitment, no option to go smaller from the factory.
It's no super car - just a jizzed up 320d.
I'm not a muppet.

Because Alpina? Who always have a gorgeous set of alloys as standard... never sampled the ride mind you.Standard fitment, no option to go smaller from the factory.
