Having the car wrapped

So, recently I've been toying with the idea of having the 159 wrapped.
The cost (between £1000-£1500) doesn't really bother me, we have one here that delivers quality work (I've seen his work, top notch!).
But, I obviously want to go with some sort of matte/satin look. I think the 159 would look absolutely menacing in satin black. Colleague of mine had her car done in satin purple which, quite frankly, looks great!
Any takes on this? Any experience with it? The car is also almost 8 years old now, having about 170k km (give or take 105k miles), should I look out for something? Any good reason not to go for it ('cept for the relatively high cost compared to the value of the car)?

Plus its not uncommon for owners of wrapped cars to have a nasty surprise when they remove the wrap - knife marks in the paint where lazy fitters trim the wrap on the car. Ive seen it so many times in my line of work unfortunately

Thx, like I said, we have a local business here that specialises in the stuff, I've seen their workmanships on everything from SLS's to base model peugeots and it's top notch. Like you said, I've seen some terrible wraps on track days and the like, which is what kept me sceptical for a long time, but seeing these guy's work is quite confidence inspiring.
Thanks for the remark about the knife marks, duly noted and something I wouldn't have thought about. I'd be sure to have it included in some sort of guarantee.

Firstly it doesn't last for ever. If you get 3 years before edges start to lift your lucky. I read the review on the Focus RS500 when it came out and noticed bits of the wrap peeling then. And it was a brand new car!
Secondly, as above. My mate had the roof on his FD2 wrapped. The car was 4 years old at the time. Where they cut the wrap to poke it into the front of the roof gutter, they scored the paint and primer. It's now a huge rust patch and he has been quoted over £600 to repair it as a part of the roof will need removing to get to it.
For the price, why not get it painted?

Well, I see a huge benefit for company cars, as you can just apply your company logo/name with the wrap, en when you sell it, just remove it with a good-as-new bodywork underneath it.We have a taxi company nearby that applies this technique.
Like anything when done properly it is excellent. Wen the wrong type of vinyl and as others have said the wrong person leaves knife marks over the car it isn't so good.
I personally think matt black has had it's day, I would be looking at a matt metallic.

I've seen some great matte colours, like purple and a very nice red A-class 
, but really wouldn't know what matte to get on the 159. Wouldn't want to go grey as it's "titanio" now and the difference won't be big enough

I'm from belgium, the satin purple I'm talking about is a "boggo" citroën DS, still, suits the "mad" styling of the car very well. Modern Citroëns take those funky colours exceedingly well I must say.GTIR said:

They sell their Toyota's after 1 year with 200k km's, look absolutely mint on the outside, with no way to tell it was ever a taxi.
