Good stuff. Seems a bit weird to announce that funding has been secured, and a fair bit of it if the timeline is to be held, without giving telling us who.

I'm guessing it's a marketing decision to hold off until new collateral with updated sponsor logos etc. can be readied, but a lot of outlets will just take today's release and use existing images etc. anyway. When the new funder(s) are revealed there might not be as big a media splash.
I know Bloodhound is a bit different as it's a industry showcase and education thing as well as speed record attempt, but it's not that uncommon for organisations to want to keep their sponsorship quiet until after the event as they don't want to be associated with it if it fails.

At a previous organisation we did all the engine tests for SSC but they didn't put our logo on the car until much later for this reason.

Bloodhound new sponsor is Geely, the Chinese automotive brand. Largest deal in the history of the project.

We can now move on and get this thing underway once again.

Very interesting and great to finally see the project moving again.

I presume this marks the end of Jaguar's direct involvement in the project? Shame if so, the synergies with the support vehicles, "testing" videos and, of course, the HTP pump were strong.

Good luck to IN5IGHT and the rest of the Bloodhound team.

I do think it's a bit of a shame that they've had to take on a Chinese company as their major sponsor though, when you think of the billions of pounds made in profits by all sorts of British companies.

Massive shame, however, given the choice between the project stagnating and it being able to continue, I'd take the latter.

What a damming indictment of British Industry. A project that has a very valid purpose, to get youngsters interested in Engineering. I suppose they'll all be howling soon that school leavers aren't interested in an Engineering career, and they can't get qualified employees.

So you keep the Jag V8 APU, but not the other vehicles?

Correct.

Jaguar will still support us in running the AJ133
