Thanks, I've been waiting for that video, had a great afternoon chatting to monkey boy
So Andy is flying a plane, looking out for other planes, describing the simulation, watching over the monkey in the front while pulling lots of Gs

That video is superb.

Geeking out on the car build then simulating the G forces of a 1000mph run.

Jolly good - can't have enough tea-makers wink

What are their trades, if you don't mind me asking?
Majority if not all are VM's.
Only officially one VM place.

Along with:

> Armourer
> Metalsmith
> Land systems electronic technician
> Aircraft avionics technicinan
> Aircraft mechanical technician (my trade)

Current team has 2 VMs because the A/C mech spot was temporarily removed due to manning issues. New team starts in April with a full compliment again.

Good stuff and thanks for the info - Really pleased to see the REME involved.

Slightly OT, but Harris has majorly stepped up his game since leaving Drive. He was absolutely the right person for this sort of video and its a good piece.

Agreed, a well put together video. I was really tense watching the flight!

Indicating that he had tried that before and was thus able to correlate the sensations?

I'm reminded of the 'reverse eating' South Park episode!

CH's Goodwood vids have been brilliant, it's gonna be interesting to see how they build a social website brand up over time.

We were here late last night, myself, Lee, Jamie, Siobhan from the rocket team had had a late one last night (midnight) to ensure the pump was fully test installed on the rig, so if there were any issues we had today to sort them before the whole lot gets shipped to Newquay to start water pumping next week. Back in 6am this morning, but it's worth it.

Best thing I've watched for years - brilliant stuff.
Really appreciated the depth of knowledge coming through.

Andy is something else.

How do you deal with the exhaust gases from the 'pump'
presumably you don't just have a hole in the side of the fuselage!

There's an area of "low" pressure under the car into which we exit the exhausts.

I've just watched the video. It was very good and it's great to see it taking shape. You're a lucky man insight! Can I ask why the REME are involved and not the RAF? Just curious and a bit bias being an ex-RAF propulsion man.

Why do have to ship it to Newquay to pump some water?

Can't you just stick a hose back to the tank and pump through a choke valve and a pressure gauge to work out pump performance

we could, but part of our partnership with Aerohub Newquay allowing us to use the runway for test runs involves us doing some other testing there.

Still, at least it shouldn't take long to drive it there at 1,000mph. winksilly
