Good stuff. Seems a bit weird to announce that funding has been secured, and a fair bit of it if the timeline is to be held, without giving telling us who.

I'm guessing it's a marketing decision to hold off until new collateral with updated sponsor logos etc. can be readied, but a lot of outlets will just take today's release and use existing images etc. anyway. When the new funder(s) are revealed there might not be as big a media splash.

Very nice "insight" of the facility. Thanks for the post, but jeez after two months without one I was beginning to think there was a fault with the website.

So what's going on now Insight? Is any work being done on the car?

It's been SORNed, and is parked outside a dodgy estate under a (very long) car cover.

Seriously, I hope you sort out the finance and get back on track soon.

At long last it looks like I may be on my way back to Bloodhound. The build team are partially back as from this week, stripping the car in preparation for final build.

Hoping to be starting a day a week from next week, ramping up to full time hopefully during October, to ensure a smooth exit from Williams as I really don't want to go burning bridges here.

Awesome news - so much time effort and support on this. My boys are 8 and 7 and have the bloodhound embedded into them like the red arrows.......we will be there at the end of the runway at Newquay when she runs!!!!!!

Good luck - SPEED OF SOUND!

Why are stripping it for final build? I sort of assumed it had been built, or was that more of a mock up?

There is a nice Bloodhound exhibit in the museum of cornwall http://www.royalcornwallmuseum.org.uk/
I built a car with my daughter for the speed test thing, managed FTD with 6 secs flat for the 10m track.
Not bad for lego kinex smile

It's not a mock up. Probably 90% of it is the finished item. But this is done to make sure it all goes together, all the issues that always arrive with a 1 off, effectively a prototype, are fixed. Although it's bolted, screwed and glued together, some of the items (bolts) are build items, the genuine ones are for the final build, when they will be torqued up to their full working value. Surface finishes can be done, and a 1001 other things, that once done, probably can't be removed. I’ve worked on satellites, these are all virtually ones off, and they get assembled, and dismantled, 100’s of times before they are finished.
