Are the fuel tanks/bladders foam(or something) filled to slow movement of the liquid. This would be of major importance if the car started to move away from straight ahead.

Rapid movement of large amounts of liquid can completely destabilise a vehicle.

None of you at Bloodhound are novices so I am sure you have this calculated to the Nth degree but it would be interesting to hear what you have done.
The word bladder is used, could i infer a collapsable tank, therefore negating the movement of liquid as the fuel is used?
We do have the option of using fuel tank foam, to stop the bags collapsing, "slosh" is not an issue.

The jury is out currently on whether or not to fit the foam as in Thrust SSC it caused some issues with blocking filters.

I'd have expected to use foam, but we have come across similar filter issues in military vehicles I worked with in a previous job, regardless of all the assurances given by the manufacturer. Having said that, the vehicles were using JP8, a very high sulphur content diesel fuel that meet NATO specs. Unsure if this would have a negative effect on the foam or not.

I hope they are safety shorts.

Chopping up tools to get them to do a job is all part of building a one off.

I understand the issue with parts in the filter but I don't understand how fuel slosh is not an issue?

We are steady state acceleration or deceleration through the run.

Simply put, without meaning to be patronising to anybody or rambling incoherently too much....

During accel the fuel obviously is forced rearwards (to the right on the images below) to an angle of 63.4degrees, we have Tornado pumps suitable placed to pick this fuel up from the rear section of the main tanks. Transfer pumps in the aux tanks also ensure any fuel held in those is fed to the rear section of the main tank.

During deccel the fuel wants to go into the fwds section of the main tank to an angle of 71.6 degrees, there are trap doors to help reduce this effect which are forced closed by the fuel, any fuel that does find it's way into the fwd section is transferred back into the rear section by another transfer pump.

The two pumps in the main section of the main tank each have two inlets, only one of these four (in total) inlets has to be able to suck fuel. In addition one inlet each pump also has a 3d printed "trumpet" to enable us to scavenge as much fuel as possible from the base of the tank.

One concern of mine was that due to the power of the pumps we'd suck the bag up into the trumpet, so a "ring piece" (yes I really called it that on the drg) is mounted on M3 x 10mm PCB standoffs on the trumpet mouth to prevent this happening.

Ring piece. hehe

Reminds me of the time I did a secondary drain hole and got away with calling it the No. 2 orifice.

I'm going to guess a more mature group would have called this the nose cone skin?

So this attaches to the pump outlet on the top of the jet fuel pump & plugs in at the other end to the EJ200.....

Looks fairly substantial! What fuel flow rate do you have to achieve? Presumably those 400 litres of A1 don't last long?

Afraid as it's covered under the RR agreement that is one of the few areas we cannot disclose.

:-)

I'd wager exactly a tiny bit longer than either one or 2 runs (including start, warm up, braking and contingency), depending on the refuelling strategy.
Given the goal, carrying "extra" fuel beyond the required doesn't make much sense.
