I bet doing the 'tollerance stack' to ensure those two massive angled bolt holes line up between those 3 parts was fun.......... ;-)
If you're making just one of them... I was at the IMechE East AD lecture last night on this very beast. Was entertaining and very interesting. I can't find the post, but what is the reason behind dropping the Cosworth V8?

Cosworth are looking to cut costs, i.e "pet projects" (things that don't generate revenue)There's a rumour floating about (isn't there always?) that Cosworth are building a turbo V6 for Haas.
Apparently they designed one but never went ahead with building/testing it.
Might come to naught (it's really too late now to do a 2015 engine, they'd have needed to decide months ago).
I'm sure a suitable powersource for the HTP pump(s?) will be found.
Have nammo decided how many rockets they are using? Last I read there was discussion of four or five.

We have a suitable power source, just negotiating purchase. Exact number of rockets will depend on results of Nammos initial test firing. Have nammo decided how many rockets they are using? Last I read there was discussion of four or five.

I like the bit when you flew through the air intake and then got over eager and got stuck in the fuselage. If only you had a qualified RAF pilot who could fly that thing for you..........
Thanks.
Getting to 1000mph seems to like getting into space, all the other efforts seem rather garden shed in comparison, so you have to worry about how they will do safety wise.
UK has the land speed record for 30 years, is that a record? Must be. If this car gets to 1000 that might be 100 years. Unless NASA gets involved now it is not going into space as much.

Looking at the wikipedia page we held it from 1914->1928 then 1929->1963 so need to hold it for another 4 years before it's a record.Silent1 said:

Rack ratio is 30:1
Bloody hell that's even worse than my Focus. Should only be needed at turnaround, no 700mph "dab of oppo" on this car if all goes to plan.
